Sure wish ford didn’t cheap out and get rid of the ambient lights that changed colour. May seem like a minor thing, but look at how many vehicles have gone to that now….ford had it first, (2011) and it’s gone now. Last year was the 2017 502A and up models. Everyone loved it, one of the first things I showed people when I used to sell them. It’s was amazing how many people that were upset by ford trying to save money by discontinuing something so cool and cheap to do. I mean the lights are already there, just make them colour changing again. I was really hoping ford would have listened to all the fans of it and brought it back. Minor thing, but so damn cool!!! Also, why doesnt the new higher trim models have heads up display?????? Again something else everyone else is going to….not ford. It was one of the only things I liked about my 19 Sierra 1500 Denali.

I agree Troy, as I own the same truck in Kodak brown. At this level heads up should be standard. No under hood light either. It’s the best F150 I’ve had however.

Can you turn the center stack display completely off? I drive a lot at night and find that “blacked out” displays allow your eyes to see better at night without strain

Lights are not bending the headlight bulb and the reflectors are moving controlled by tye steering wheel!

I have a non powerboost one and gotta say, the LED C-clamp lights are bitter sweet. And when you look at the vehicle straight from the front the lights look amazing, looks good both day and night. Aside from that they are a huge disappointment. The side profile is very dim and a let down at night and during the day in sunlight, you can’t even tell they are on from the side. It was one of the things I brought up during my interview with the Ford engineer team (zoom call). On video of the lights look far better than they do in person.

This is the level of quality needed in the 2022 Explorer Platinum. We have a 2021 Explorer Platinum, black on black. Drivetrain get a 10-10, but you can tell where they cut corners in production cost. Its very frustrating seeing what they can do, but chose not to in the top level Explorer. I have brand loyalty, but its hard to ignore the details. Especially looking at the competiton (Teluride and Palisade). They have inferior engine, transmision, and chasi, but they take the Explorer for a ride when it comes to materials and attention to details, especially in the interior and use of features. Tje competitive advantage of the Explorer is that its built and feels more like a truck compare with the competiton. Just go all the way and make it more close to a F150 and recycle the interior. This F150 seen more tough out than the Explorer, ¿why? You have all you need here. Its one of Ford best selling vehicle, make some effort or lose. At some point even Explorer fans are going to step into a Palisade and say “ is it worth it? paying 10k more for loyalty? Is Ford doing the best the can to get my money? Com um man! I love the Explorer but it feels 3-5 years behind in interior quality and use of feature. Best example, the use on center screen and lighting, leather seats and soft touch surfaces.... I can make a list. Please take some leasson from the F150 or die.

I just bought recently a 2022 hybrid platinum. I think Ford better rethink there pricing on there so call luxury trucks. I dealt my 21 lariat for my new platinum, what a difference for the money I paid. Not impressed Ford, maybe a Denali next. Just saying.
