Since you are so familiar with the story you should stick with the pure audio versions first. You'll be able to understand and even notice when and how Jorge departs from the traditional telling of the story. The animatics are pretty good but I'd only recommend them for people who aren't that familiar with the original story as it helps one to understand the plot.

This was so refreshing. This is only the second song and you are already giving the most insightful and knowledgable R&As that are out there so far. I also like that you are just listening to the songs right now. There are some great animatics out there but I find that they really distract reactors from the music for the first listen. You can always watch those later.

Tbf not everything is perfectly conveyed in the songs, but I'll agree listening to just the recordings is better for now, not only cuz it supports Jay but because the mad jalapeño somehow improved the songs

@@MesoJoe Personally I do prefer the originals and I hope the rights situation gets fixed so I can just listen to those again and know I'm still supporting the Epic team. The newer versions aren't bad but as I'm used to the other ones I hear the slight differences and I just usually prefer how the originals are sung.

This whole thing is "epic", both musically and lyrically. I think knowing the story of the Odyssey will help you to really feel the music perfectly. I am so glad this has been put in front of you. I agree. It won't last as long. But the impact is greater. I recommend listening Full Speed Ahead, Open Arms, then Warrior of the Mind separate since you already did this Saga that way so far. But the rest by entire Saga. I love that Odysseus is thinking about two monsters here. Himself. And the man the infant might become

You should watch with animatics it adds alot and despite what people are saying they do take some sharp deviations from original. Also for some songs there is important transition animations connecting songs.

Imo, it's better to just listen for now. I certainly was able to love and follow along with the story with only the music and without much knowledge about the original source material. If I (and many others) could do it, so could he. The animatics aren't necessary.

Im sure in most movies you could know what's happening without visuals doesn't mean nothing is lost from not watching the movie. he even released his new saga with anamatics.
