I KNOW my life is better since I learned how to distinguish between good and not-so-good evidence and let go of my beliefs enough to demand they meet the burden of proof. "God is not the author of confusion?" Well the one of the Bible sure seems to be. My thoughts are more clear now. I don't feel compelled to shame others for not fitting into the narrow Bible box. Everything makes clear sense now, while supposed "clarity" used to be dependent on bending (or denying) facts to fit the Biblical narrative. I understand my urges, have much greater control over my responses to them, no longer despise myself, and have crystal clear direction for helping people in ways I never would have considered before -- ways that will actually make a real difference in people's lives. So yeah, here's another personal testimony that "god is dead" and, without that dark fantasy, I can finally live, genuinely love with no "spiritual" strings attached, and pursue legitimate (woo-woo-free) good for everyone.
