@kaylasilverstein41379 ай бұрын
Yeah same, it’s such a unique idea. In most kid shows it seems like you’re basically supposed to be a GOD of some kind lol. Like in Dora/Diego for example. They ask you for help any time they have to do a task, and then when they succeed they say YOU did it and thank you for helping. Ex: the episode I’m thinking of is one I saw where Diego asked “you” to help him win a race by pantomiming running. Then when he won the race he turned to look at the screen and said “YOU did it!! Great job”
@shipper-of-heart8898Ай бұрын
I feel like Daniel Tiger does that too, addressing the audience as 'neighbor' and he's the only one who seems to talk to/acknowledge they're there (I mean in most episode openings he'll tell his parents/teacher/friends 'look! My neighbor's here too!" and they respond with a 'hi neighbor!') I know its referring to Mr. Rogers referring to the audience as 'neighbor' but it still would be cute

I get the sense that Mona's dad walked one day (didn't come back from work), leaving her mom a single parent who has to work a lot to keep up, and is dropping Mona off at Nanna's house every day because the other options would be daycare or a sitter. Mona loves it though, and Nana doesn't seem bothered, so no fault to Mom there. She's clearly pretty stressed and its good that she has a support system. I do wonder if she got together with someone new, not Mona's bio dad.

Instead of Mona’s mum getting back together with her dad I like to think that her parents were always together and were just going through a really really rough patch and just weren’t on the best of terms. Perhaps both of Mona’s parents work full time but her dad works so much where he’s almost neglectful of his family and it makes it hard for her mum to properly look after her and the house with her own job, hence why she’s always with Nana so she has some form of care. When her mum starts wearing new cloths and says she’s happy it’s because Mona’s parents had a talk and are beginning to working things out

My theory on Mona's family is that at the beginning of the show the family couldn't make ends meet with only the dad's job, so the mom started "going berserk" looking for jobs and trying to accommodate to the dad having to do extra hours to try and get more money. During season 2 she gets the job and their life starts slowly improving until at one point they both start being paid enough to live comfortably without having a long ass work day so the dad can finally come back at reasonable hours to spend time with Mona after she comes back from Nana's.

My theory about Mona’s parents is that her had is in the puppet military and was stationed away which is the reason why Mona’s mom was sad and tired because she stayed up thinking about her husband but he came back home by season two making the mom’s mental health better. This is also carried by the fact of the line of when Mona dad is at work, he is at work in the military. But that’s just a theory

When I was a baby, both of my parents were working parents, so they'd drop me off at my nana's house. Mona supposedly goes to her nana's house on a daily basis. So, maybe Mona's mother is a working single mother, and Nana keeps an eye on Mona while she's at work? Preschool can cost a LOT, and maybe there isn't a preschool they can access where they are, whether it be too far to drive there then go to work, or too expensive, or any other myriad of reasons.

I have a idea for a nanalan reboot. Mona is 16 years old and she owns nanas house after she dies, mona loves kids so she becomes a babysitter in her Neighborhood and turns nanas old house into a daycare for the young toddlers and she is reminded of when she was a toddler and playing with her nana and now keeping nanas memories alive

WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS??? I love it, but it makes me sad!!

@ari_sings_songs because I thought it was cute and come on, nana won't live forever, and mona seems like the kind of person who would open a daycare or something I also made a football player at her school live in mr woka's old house and his name is Chad and he helps mona whenever he can

Perhaps Mona's Dad was working long hours for a long period and her Mum was working another job because of financial struggles, so Mona's Mum was feeling stressed handling everything at home on top of work, it's even possible that she dropped Mona off while she (the Mum) was at therapy, or simply while running errands, but in the later series perhaps she and Mona's Dad have gone through some couple's therapy and he's given up his demanding job for something that allows him to spend more time with the family, even taking on household tasks like cooking so it takes the weight off of Mona's Mum so she can pursue her own goals, and so is happier and has a better life balance.
