About to dye a second hand thule chariot. Was trying to choose between this and paint. After watching your video and speaking with a shop assistant at Supercheap (auto shop in Australia…I’m Australian) I will definitely go with Rit Dye More plus the fixative and heat treat with hair dryer. Your couch looks lovely. I love your voice. Is it weird to say it’s pretty 🤷♀️🤔🤭. When I have more time I will check out more of your videos.

This would be a great project for furniture you'd otherwise sell or toss before buying a new piece. I wonder if taking a wet vac or carpet cleaner to it while wet would ruin the stain.

Really love how your sofa turned out! I've never worked with fabric dye before. Is there a strong smell? I would love to try this on an old upholstered chair, but the original fabric is velvet. I suspect that might be a much thirstier fabric, what do you think? Also, you mentioned not addressing stains on the arm of your sofa. Is it not necessary to wash the fabric before dying? The chair I want to dye was a favorite of my dog's, so it's pretty grimy! Would appreciate some advice, thanks!

Have you tried a organic paint? For example ECOS Paint or a lime wash paint

Is color fixative like a sealer?

That's what I'm wondering

It’s an easy-to-use solution designed to lock in color, keeping the fabrics looking their best and brightest for the long run. It reduces bleeding, fading and even enhances the color of the project. Use after dyeing to lock in color

Does the dye come off on your clothing when sitting down like if you were hypothetically wearing white pants would you get a teal bum

I came here wondering the same thing. I wouldn't trust it.

No- it doesn’t rub off on clothes at all. I finished dyeing it last week so I cold make sure it wouldn’t transfer dye. It doesn’t. Even if you get it wet and rub a white cloth on it

@@AtHomewithAshley someone else said there was a lot of color transfer. wonder if it depends on the fabric composition and the color (light vs dark).
