Hell yes. I was hoping you would get to this. I saw a reacter complaining Dany didn't do enough guitar solos and he was too impatient to see her perform any. Jerk move. He mentioned a lack of talent because of his ignorance. Had he seen this he would have seen a great example of her solo skills. It goes to show you can't judge off of one song. The Warning did a very faithful cover of this song, so much so a TWA fan channel cut together their video with Metallica footage and the girls were dead on. So if you didn't like the original, pretty sure you weren't going to like the cover.

Metallica's cover of The Warning's Atlas Rise is so-so. 😜 So after a 2 hour set, TW can pull this off. I have heard that they collapsed backstage after this show. Don't know if it's true. But toward the end, Ale looked like she was ready to drop from exhaustion. I think she was 13 or 14 for this show.

Two take aways I feel that you should at least consider: 1. The Warning played this with only ONE guitarist instead of two, and it sounded full and powerful, so much so that the second rhythm guitar part isn't even missed; and 2. The Warning were able to learn and flawlessly execute a song with an EXTREMELY COMPLEX ARRANGEMENT. Those two facts alone are quite an amazing feat for them. It irrefutably proves what truly phenomenal musicians they are. Oh and by the way, when asked, Ale said that this is her favorite cover they ever did, PRECISELY because it was such a challenge to learn, remember all the parts and play it well.

I was at this show that the Warning played this song. You may not like this song or Metallica but Enter Sandman is what got there career started, if it wasn’t for that song and put out at the right time and how good they reproduced it who knows where they would be today! I think the girls wanted to do another Metallica song in a way to say thanks to Metallica for in a small way giving them there start. Just my thinking here. Plus this song was the last song of over 20 songs they played that evening and then the song was over 7 minutes long and they were tired. In fact Ale tripped on a cord during this song dnd nearly fell. I talked to her after the show was over and she hurt her knee when that happened and she was limping a bit from the pain. You can hate Metallica but give the girls some credit here.

I never liked the song, but I still love listening to how great TW plays it. It's a monumental achievement, especially at their age, and IMO deserves more respect than it's given, to the end. I was never a big fan of Metallica but I´m familiar with many of their titles. I hade never heard Atlas rise before I heard The Warning do their cover, and I must say this is the worst song I have heard Metallica play. Besides from "Atlas rise..." it´s hard to hear the lyrics. The Warning on the other hand. Dany does a fantastic job on the guitar (She is playing both lead and rhythm) and it´s crisp. Pau is killing the drums and doing a better job than the original, and Ale.. well she´s Ale and does a killer job too. I enjoy The Warning and their performance, Metallica not so much. As I said in the beginning, I had never heard the original up until today. And I want to be left alone with both TW´s version of Enter Sandman and their cover of Atlas rise, because then I can be happy. I laughed hard at your jokes in the end, great reaction.

My understanding is that they learned this cover and played it as a birthday "gift" for the owner of the Whiskey-A-Go-Go, since it was his birthday, on the night they were scheduled to perform, there (or thereabouts). It speaks volumes about their commitment and skill - learning a roughly 7-minute song and being able to play it to perfection, knowing full well that it's not going to be played more than one or two times. If they were ever to give me a gift, I'd hope it would be something simple and not a full-on song, like this. LOL 🙂

There is a fantastic interview with Metallica about how much they hated, at first, being told how to write and structure their songs on the Black Album - they had never had any guidance before. But that was the difference, Bob Rock harnessed their talent and focussed it into properly designed songs.

Good assessment! It's a chore to play, and The Warning learned a lot from mastering it. They are the real deal. Metallica wrote a lot of crap. The Warning make that crap stink less. I heard the original Metallica version once when I listened to the Hardwired album. An album I really did not care for at all. Maybe two or three okay songs on the whole album. I prefer The Warning's version of the song. Have not even listened to their latest album that came out a year ago. The live version being played by Metallica is at a faster tempo then the studio version. This cover just proves to the clowns that say Dany can't shred have no idea what they are talking about. Dany can shred with the best of them. If Lars attempted to sing and play like Pau he'd drop a drumstick and knock over a cymbal stand.

OMG! My face hurts from laughing at the last 3 minutes of this video. This is one of the two songs from Metallica that I actually like after the Black Album (there are a couple from the most recent album that I don't hate, but they are also very forgettable) But yeah. the 3 girls did it better than 4 grown men. (and they were still girls when they did this 14, 16, 18) This was also the last cover they did. They have not done any other covers as a band from The Cave since this was done between albums.

A message to TWA members - BE DAMN RESPECTFUL. If you don't know, Rob is a strong supporter of The Warning. ROB . .. ROBBBBBB - this was always going to be an iffy cover for you. Another Reactor I like a lot (shout out to David Heretic) did this as his 1st introduction to The Warning in 2020. He gave it an 8.0 which equates to still Great (he abhorred the song, but absolutely loved DPA across the board) and got roasted by some aggressive fanbois (or wannabes) - some of the comments he received were not welcome to say the least (he put out a video addressing this in The Warning multiple playlist of 51 vids)). Knowing your dislike for Metallica, you'll have to put up with 2 fan groups hating on you lol . Onto the reaction . . . . Yeah, fair. Not a fan of the original, and like you probably the only Metallica album I like is The Black album and a very small smattering of songs outside that - this is not one. Also, this is the 1st time I've heard the original in any capacity (I didn't want to dilute what enjoyment I got from TWs cover). You would have been told the circumstances of the performance by TW, their ages, the fact that there's only 3 of them . . (😝) - its a shame that the original song is not as good . Anyone who says that Dany can't solo can suck a dick, a really big one. Ale is an amazing musician, Pau is a fun-sized energiser bunny, but Dany has become the sort of front person that all bands need - looking back 5-6 years, you can see that forming, coalescing, rising. The question is - would I put the original on my playlist - no I wouldn't. Would I put The Warning's cover on my playlist - already have (just for something different). For me . The Warning sound so much better and more full than Metallica . . While they are younger they seemed to have more energy . . Although their last of the night they seemed excited to perform it . Heading to see you Gene Simmonds interview now . . Your fast becomeing the go to channel . . Reactions .
