First thing, thanks Internet Pitstop for being a really chill successor to the feeling of finding a cozy room in the midst of an apocalyptic and nightmare fulled world. :) Guys, the original taia777 checkpoint video that’s the whole reason for his channel, was my personal place to just send a checkpoint about my life currently, and the space where I read so many small moments of people’s lives… it was copyright claimed. While it feels almost bittersweet that such a lovely, cozy thing was allowed to exist on the internet for us before being gone, I still hate the copyright system we have. We still can’t watch or play many things, we can’t remix or create new art out of existing things without copyright breathing down our backs. It was RIAA’s last ditch effort to screw with us a little bit more before they fizzle out and die, but it’s pissed me off for years… yeah, we can’t let something like that keep us from being able to express our humanity, you know? These videos kinda give a great crash corse in what we’ve been dealing with, and what we gotta fight so we can just enjoy some chill remixes with anime tittie clips spliced with chill backgrounds. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/gX69ZZ6hiLuleNk m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3OcY31tZaegrJo I don’t know, it pisses me off… anyway, sorry about that, carry on with your lives and good luck :)

That atmosphere you described of being in a cozy room in the midst of an apocalyptic and nightmare fulled world is something that I personally have always felt immense comfort from even as a kid being somewhere safe when I knew the outside wasn’t or maybe it was cold and where I was was warm things like that always brought comfort for me idk if there’s a word for that but I love that feeling it’s something adult swim has and the taia777 channel I think that’s what I try to achieve here so this comment really made me happy to read made me feel like everything I’m doing is worth it and it’s working rip to Taia777 copyright is truly such a mess and those vids you shared are great for exposing that thank you for this comment it means a lot to me hope you have a great day !

@@InternetPitstop for sure man, actually I remember my first taste of that feeling, that vibe came from me being a little dumb 5 year old playing Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, in the warmth of my home as just right outside the window there’s just calm snow. I mean I got the game at Christmas thinking “this is gonna be that fun Zelda game I randomly saw on tv and told my parents about!” Thinking I was gonna get Skyward Sword, but because my parents didn’t actually know the name of the game I was thinking, they just went like “oh, this one looks cool! It’s got this surreal and misty box art of link and a wolf. Lez do thaaat!” And thus, I was thrust into the whiplash of discovering the nightmare fuel of Twilight Princess. I remember the moment I began suspecting it wasn’t gonna be the bubbly and playful game I saw on tv as soon as I went into the twilight realm and became a furry. Dude, the music STILL sits with me to this day, being introduced to a character that made me begin looking at the world of less black and white, but more grey… non other than Midna. At first I was like “ahh! She’s a demon and this place has monsters and creepy music, OBVIOUSLY she’s evil!” And then as the game went on she became my first video game crush… which makes sense for my current taste in women actually- But I remember that feeling of running across the roofs of this surreal and dark world, fighting off nightmarish creatures with distorted screeches, and just being… entranced by all of it. Feeling the weight of saving my friends, and sprinting throughout the world as it’s snowing outside my home… I think the fact that I played that AND was watching adult swim and Samurai Champloo around the same age made me appreciate the importance of the vibe at a young age. So great video dude, have a great day! (Similar thing happened the first time playing ICO where I would never sprint while holding Yorda’s hand because she always looked uncomfortable, as well as NOT KNOWING SHE WAS REQUIRED TO SAVE until halfway in the game because I’d bring her to the couch on my own, just wanting to have company. I know, I’m a dumb romantic and always have been… anyway that’s all)

I think my first experience with atmosphere in games was in LoZ Twilight Princess. At first everything is fine and cheery and you start in this cozy village helping everyone out and basically being the big brother of the town. But once the plot started moving the atmosphere completely changed. The twilight realm just... hit different. The eerie music, the dark sky, the creepy enemies, the souls of scared npcs, It created this incredible sense of "I need to get the hell out of here". You literally become Link. You want to get out of this creepy and alien atmosphere, and go back to the cozy village life. One part of the game that sticks with me to this day is escaping captivity as wolf link and finding Zelda. The complete mood shift from ranching cattle, to escaping a dark eerie castle with your only companion being this weird bossy creature completely captivated me. It was one of the first games I played as a kid, and I still look back on those moments fondly. I always get this weird nostalgia whenever I play back through those segments of the game.

The original Fallout creates a tense and scary atmosphere that none of the other games have been able to recreate. The first time I went to The Glow was actually kind of scary, as everything's burnt out, there are charred bodies strewn across the floor, and occasionally a message would pop up about how my character was starting to feel funny. The atmosphere made radiation feel like an unstoppable terror.

1:10 It's funny you mention this because when I was growing up I would often watch my brother complete games. We fought at times, and it even led to us having 2 GameCubes, but I would still willingly watch him play games. Because of that, to this day I still enjoy sitting down with him to experience a game together. It's something I will never get tired of, and some games I've held off on just to see it for the first time with him.

Checkpoint: April 26th, 2023. Its a bit long but its here if you want to read it. I'm 26 and I never really felt like I knew what I wanted to do in life. But about a year ago, I had a sudden strong urge to go into automotive repair. I'm almost done school now, and I'm looking for an apprenticeship. For the first time in my life, I really feel like I know exactly what I want to do. A job I can always fall back on if things get rough. There will always be cars to fix. I'm basically installing a safety net to keep myself from falling too far in life. I genuinely feel safer now because of this. Even though in my life there's internal struggles, this is something that I know can keep me going. I've got plenty of good hobbies, good friends. I've worked on myself, made myself healthier and found a fashion sense I really like. But the one thing I'm missing is a romantic partner. I feel like its the one thing I can't get. I've never had the chance to experience it. And because of it being the one thing, I can really end up focusing on it, and really feeling like garbage. Lots of my friends tell me its the best thing in life. But my failures at it have made me grow as a person far more than I could have imagined. I hope I can find someone some day. But in all honesty, I'm scared to try again. All I've known is disappointment. Too many people have kinda treated me like dirt, even when I specifically told them that I'm tired of being lied to and thrown to the side without an explanation of what went wrong. But I know its possible that someone out there is capable of putting in the effort and interest. So I just have to see. I know regardless of what happens I've now got the mental strength to just fight through and move on, and the friends and family to help me when its too tough to handle on my own. Time to head on to the next checkpoint.

Checkpoint: Last year my girlfriend and I had an unplanned pregnancy. There was a lot of emotions, a lot of uncertainty, a lot of things said that both of us wish we hadn't. Ultimately it ended in a horrible miscarriage that she very nearly didn't survive. It's been a hard event to come down from and I thought many times that there was no way we'd end up seeing this through together. But just this morning started with hugs kisses and cooking and doing little chores around the apartment together, messing with the cat... And I thought that things are really feeling happy and hopeful again. Thank you for this video. Even if I am 2 years late to it I thought I'd leave this here.

Checkpoint: I've been bedridden for six or seven (kinda lost track) months with a physical ailment that is really difficult to talk about even with the people I trust most. It's ruining my relationships with my friends and family, and really making me doubt a lot of my life decisions and what the future might be like for me, but I'm persevering as I have been over years of struggle. I hate to complain about my problems, I know everyone is struggling with their own things and my issues are nothing special, but this video reminds me that inspiration can come from anywhere and maybe even this comment could inspire somebody in some way. That's that feeling you're talking about towards the end, by the way, that motivation to become a better version of yourself. Dark Souls and all of these other beautiful pieces of media inspire us to continue working towards whatever goals we want to reach, or give us brand new goals and passions to pursue. This channel is amazing, dude, seriously. I had originally started watching this video in the beginning of this year and I had just started my first semester in my mortuary program and I go back to your videos to listen to while I study. First Checkpoint 09/02/2024: I am now in my 3rd semester in my Mortuary Program and I work for a Funeral Home too. Since starting this program, I have found my people and I have changed a lot personally. I have gained a lot of personal independence and confidence. Being able to serve people in the most difficult time of their lives has been humbling. I really appreciate the smallest things in life so much. I also got out of a long relationship and my people had kind of made me see how unhealthy & overly controlling this person was in my life. I look forward to this coming fall season because I spend it with my newly found group of friends. I also learned in one of my mortuary classes that the Heart Containers in Legend Of Zelda are based after the the heart of Saints in Catholic Church, they keep the hearts of Saints because they are believed to be holy and pure. I thought that was a fun thing about Legend Of Zelda and that really shows how much effort the developers put into Legend of Zelda

I remember being a kid and loving the castle town area, and then my heart absolutely sinking seeing the state of it after becoming an adult. Bro, I felt this video xd. I have more examples from my own childhood and teenage years: Harry Potter PoA: both the gamecube and the gameboy advance versions, just exploring Hogwarts, the fields and lake, the bridges, then the hallways and classrooms of the castle, with Jeremy Soul's beautiful music playing in the background... man. Skyrim: exploring the seemingly endless landscape of Skyrim at night, alone or with a companion, looking up at the stars peeking from behind the tall mountains... again with Jeremy Soul music. Ufff. Zelda Twilight Princess: just the whole game xd. Really, the whole game is just vibes all around. From the cozy ranch at the beggining, to the creepy twilight realm, hyrule fields at night, the whole game just made me feel so much. Super Mario Galaxy: those quiet moments in the beggining, or specially when exploring the crystal planet in space junk galaxy, with the beautiful music, just looking out i to space... man I miss those moments. These are just what I can remember off the top of my head, dark souls too had a huge impact on me, that bonfire music is strangly warm and melancolic.

... Okay. Yeah. Why not? Checkpoint: 8/26/2022 Got the Splatoon 3 OLED Switch today. Listening to videos on KZbin as I deal with transferring all my data over. Currently waiting on the SD card's album to be backed up to my external hard drive. It's a big one at over 500 GB & I'm looking to upgrade to 1 TB, preferably sooner rather than later. Found your videos a day or two ago - maybe a little more, my memory is crap. I believe the first one I watched was your critique of Pokemon's region design. So far, I haven't found a single video I disagree with. It's refreshing to see a guy like you, so open about loving videogames, but also not being elitist about it, touting one console over the others, whining about graphics, putting down Nintendo games for being family friendly, etc. I really enjoy listening to you gush about art direction, level design, etc. Also, you have great taste. (Pokémon Mystery Dungeon & Breath of the Wild LET'S GOOOO!!!)

something about that little comment about walking slow in the temple of time really meant so much to me. i couldnt tell you how many times ive played a game and changed my characters actions depending on the environment but that little bit in the video hit so close to home. i felt an amazing sense of "this guy gets me" and its a similar feeling ive gotten from your other videos.

Atmosphere, characters, and story. My top 3 things I look for in a game. Graphics don't matter at all for me. So long as it doesn't look like dogshit I'm good. Very few games look that bad and it isn't because of the time they came out. Stories and characters like Steins;gate, Chrono Trigger, Luminous Arc, Nier: Gestalt, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Bravely Default, and Bravely Second will stay with me forever.

I dunno bro, for a long time I wanted to make something like this, a channel or a stream where people can share the stuff they love. Whether it’s games, anime, movies, music, hell even comics. The stuff that makes us feel things. I always put it off for one reason or another, but now I know for sure I can’t, cause you’ve already done it better than I ever could. One of the best moments of gaming I've had is sitting by a campfire with some random dudes in the Stalker series , its such a great experience hearing them joke, play guitar or just sitting, it's why Stalker games are so beloved, the atmosphere and why it's a cult hit, exploring Chernobyl is amazing with all the sounds and ambiance we need more games with awesome atmosphere, it's what makes games special and immersive.

I do not know if you'll ever see this. But if you do, I just wanted to say this was an absolutely *gorgeous* video. I love atmosphere too, because it immerses me in this fictional world thru my screen. And it's the smaller details that add up to it. I played ICO, Shadow of the colossus, Zelda games, NieR games, currently playing DS1 and 3 (also played Bloodborne) and all of these have amazing examples. And in the case of anime, one of the reasons why I love Attack on Titan is the atmosphere, people hardly talk about it. And it is the tone of it, the clouds, the detail, the cryptic vibe to the Titans, the darkness, the people in it, the themes that create this unique atmosphere. And the fact that is not a videogame impresses me. I am currently studying art and design of videogames, and I want to create games like these. Games like Fromsoft games, Zelda games, NieR and my beloved Shadow of the Colossus/ICO. I also wanna do manga soon, main inspirations being AoT, HxH and others like Chainsaw Man, Monster by Urasawa, Mob Psycho. And hopefully my works get adapted. But anyway. I am subscribing. Those final moments of this were inspiring. Thank you for reading if you did. beautiful video.

Dude, you started with Ocarina of Time. That's fucking perfect for me. I wasn't sure what I was getting into the first time I played, but as soon as I entered the Deku Tree, I knew... as soon as that music hit, with its atmosphere and ambience causing me to just go ZEN. GOD. Atmosphere in games ALWAYS sells me, and music. Nothing else funnily enough. It's why Metroid is the peak of atmosphere in games, fucking love Metroid. And Zelda. Recently Neon White is ballin' too. I won't stop giving long comments like these, but take it from me: that means you've made fantastic videos that scratch my itch, because I rarely give long comments like this. Keep it up for real. I've said that a lot and I won't stop, you need to blow up to more people.
