I was a computer hardware engineer. This looks like what we used to call "user tested firmware". Companies have a lot of pressure to get their products out in the market, to beat competitors, but it sure raises hell for the user. In the companies I worked at, we would never ship such a flaky product. It was a matter of pride, how much we could throw at our system and the software was so solid we rarely saw a problem, even though we were trying to induce problems. We would rudely power down a disk drive or a fiber channel switch, right in the middle of some heavy processing, and the applications would never fail.

I agree, they definitely pushed the product out prior to being 100%, we were beta testers for the scope. between my brother, my son, and myself we have had 9 different scopes. we worked through some of the issues with temp fixes in the field, but when the scope just don't work, nothing you can do. To us that first batch that was sent out May 2023 had all the issues, so many people having problems the comments and emails we received was tremendous. The issues seemed to slow down around Feb 2024, here we are 18+ months later, very few issues, what we see now are people asking how certain things works or how to set up options because the manual is not very clear or with the new firmware updates with new or improved options.

Great video, im half way through and you talked me out of buying one. You have a lot of patience my friend. I would loose my mind having all these issues.

Thank You, i will say this the first few batches of X 5's had a lot of problems, but now we very rarely see or hear about any issues, they have improved or fixed the issues from last year. There have been several times i wanted to get my money back. Especially when i missed 7 hogs and watching the video in slo mo and cross hairs were on target, the scope just would not save zero, but there was a temp fix that worked.

When it works it works true words have never been spoken. Love mine where it works unfortunately often doesn't locks up constantly The internal battery died so now I'm running it off of power supply really disappointed it's performance but you're right about tech support they are fantastic. And for reference I've only had my scope about 2 weeks

i wanted to keep this review true to my experience with the scope, its a great product when it works exactly. if you didnt call tech support i would sounds like they will fix or replace it especially if you only had it for 2 weeks

Great Vid! Thx too for the tips! I've decided to give this scope a try and just ordered - my first night vision scope. And my first foray into night hunting. I'm curious to see what firmware version it will have. Good advice on having a backup shooter within reach.

Thank you for watching, Overall it is a good scope, i have heard of issues with the streaming not connecting, (ATN fixed the issue) but i have not had an issue with it, i have connected my phone and tablet both worked great

Thank You for watching, i have been using it regularly when i didn't have an issue, biggest issue i had that took me awhile to figure out was the scope didn't save zero i missed 7 hogs, but other than that in the last year i have harvested 35 hogs. i also upgraded to the IR 850 Pro

@GadsdenFreedomOutdoors here in Wisconsin the cold always causes my Xsight 4 to freeze up. I am hoping they fixed that issue with the 5.

we have not seen or received any comments regarding that happening with the 5, i do remember reading somewhere that someone had that happen (don't recall which scope) but they used the atn cover that comes with scope in the cold, the cut parts away so they can see and use buttons

I appreciate your video. You have a patience for nonsense I absolutely do not possess. That scope would have been thrown in the trash after the first replacement. If you're having to do anything but turn it on and hunt I'm calling it a piece of garbage. Thanks again for a good video.

We appreciate you taking the time to watch our video. There has been several times over the last year that i wanted to return and get a refund, but after doing countless hours of research on other products, a lot of them have issues too and are double the price. I will say as of right now 98% of the the time i can just turn it on and hunt.

The scope is not a simple scope it is a computer in a sense (you have to update firmware and it is digital) , it is easy to use, has great features. Only need to zero once, UNLESS you have problems or you have to send scope back for repairs.

I never heard of dnt just looked them up, almost 1/2 the price of atn. even with all the issues in the past i would still recommend atn, their customer support is A+, they fix or replace the scope

You shout upgrade your bog death grip and get the ball head conversion kit from zero fox given. Best decision I’ve made in a long time. It’s such a better tripod now and it’s lighter now also

Salve, anche io ho questo dispositivo, purtroppo all' ultima uscita dopo aver esploso un colpo si è spento e non si è più acceso, tranne che se collegato all' alimentazione. Immagino sia successo qualcosa alla batteria interna, attualmente è in assistenza in garanzia, mi dispiace perché dopo l ultimo aggiornamento il dispositivo funzionava benissimo!!

Overall it is a great scope, the newer scopes have less problems than the first batch. You just have to stay on top of the firmware updates when they get released.
