Thank you. Very informative video. Have you created a video of the box for the Atomstack as you mentioned? I would be interested to see how you handled the exhaust for the smoke.

I made one for the Ortur Laser Master 2 pro, but the same thing could be applied to this machine as well

Could you compare atomstack A5 pro with Sculpfun S9 pro, I guess the one you got was an older version S6 pro.

Tip: For clear acrylic just cover it throughly with a large black whiteboard marker. Then wash it off easily afterwards. Just search KZbin and you are bound to find a video about it.

That is a great idea, would probably only work for engraving though and not cutting.

I am an UNLUCKY owner of an Atomstack a5 pro and I can say that if you happen to have a machine that is not perfect there is trouble, because the maximum of their technical assistance is to reply once with an email in which they tell you to tighten the screws well and to read the manual; then they don't answer you anymore (I already had an A5 and I had the bad idea of selling it to buy the Pro, to explain that I know how to mount and how to make it work). ---------- So be careful and pray you get a perfect car or else there is trouble. ---- p.s. - I'm sorry for this comment but this aspect is also part of the qualities or defects of a brand

Hi there, Thanks for the review! Can the Atomstack A5 Pro cut through Velcro? For making patches?
@DarkArtGuitars
@DarkArtGuitars 2 жыл бұрын
I have not tried that, but I would think so. Just double check the materials used in velcro that they don't release any toxic fumes when burnt.

Are they the correct colour safety glasses for a 455nm laser???? Thought they would have been orange or red.
@DarkArtGuitars
@DarkArtGuitars 3 жыл бұрын
As far as I know, both work. Almost all safety glasses I've gotten with blue diode lasers have been green, only one was red so far.
@TheGazuk
@TheGazuk 3 жыл бұрын
Give a pair a try under one of the laser modules and see if it goes through. Could be a new topic on laser safety as more and more people are buying these without the knowledge of how dangerous they can be.

I think that the focus point assimetry could be fixed with optics. What you think about it?
@DarkArtGuitars
@DarkArtGuitars 3 жыл бұрын
It definitely could, and many manufacturers are already doing that with more or less success. It is just not a very simple problem, an optics can get expensive fast. But give it a year or two, I'm sure we'll see many more options with this issue largely resolved.

Can this cut 1/4 birch plywood?
@DarkArtGuitars
@DarkArtGuitars 3 жыл бұрын
With an air assist and some patience maybe, but it will take a while. Softer plywood is no problem at 1/4 but birch ply is a lot harder to cut, so you'd have to try.

What %power setting did you use to cut 3mm plywood? You said 450mm/min with 3 passes but didn't say what power setting.
@DarkArtGuitars
@DarkArtGuitars 3 жыл бұрын
If I don't mention power, that means I'm running at 100%. With a diode laser you're running at 100% pretty much always for cutting and then just vary the speed to adjust.

Hi can I know which software u use for atomstack a5 pro Because I used lightburn I'm not able to cut on 4mm plywood can u help me how to do setting
@DarkArtGuitars
@DarkArtGuitars 3 жыл бұрын
I use both LaserGRBL and Lightburn. The software you use should not have an influence on what you can cut though. Have you focused the laser? When using the cutting speeds I mentioned in the video, you should be able to get quite close. It is possible you'll have to slow it down slightly if your wood is harder or sth, but it should be close.

yes, cutting was always at 100% just altering the speed depending on what is needed

Thank you for the great video. is it possible to cut plastik like vinyl LPs?
@DarkArtGuitars
@DarkArtGuitars 3 жыл бұрын
Should be possible as long as it isn't too thick and not transparent, just make sure not to breathe the smoke from cutting plastic, as it can be quite toxic.

can atomstack a5pro engrave on zippo or other metal ?
@DarkArtGuitars
@DarkArtGuitars 3 жыл бұрын
If you have some sort of coating on it like anodizing or powder coating then yes. Otherwise there are some special sprays that let you engrave metal with lower powered lasers like this, but by themselves they can't engrave bare metal.

Great video! Have you compared Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro with Atomstack A5 Pro? Does Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro still falls behind Atomstack A5 Pro?...
@DarkArtGuitars
@DarkArtGuitars 3 жыл бұрын
I have tested both, and I would definitely put the lm2pro above the a5pro. They have similar power, but the laser spot on the lm2pro is smaller, resulting in more crisp images and better cutting performance.

@DarkArtGuitars

of the two shown in this video, the Atomstack is a lot better (also more expensive). But since then I also tested the Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro, which is better than either one of these (but also more expensive).
