Absolutely. Some use chaotic neutral to be kinda evil. But my man legit was just existing in the moment. MLB: “hey did your doctor give you steroids?” Him: “ with an S?” MLB: Yes manny steroids with an S Manny: Yup. Is that bad? MLB: Yes that’s bad. Don’t do it again. Later… Manny: * conference call with reporters* Hey, I’m taking this medicine, my doctor said it’s okay, and the S is crossed out, so I can take them right? Reporters: What are they? Manny: Steroids but without the S

Fun fact about Manny that’s been lost over the years, he’d head into most at-bats expecting one single pitch and would take until he saw what the pitch he guessed and, usually, mash the hell out of it.
@chilledpenguins8381

Not only that, but he would swing horribly at the first one he saw to bait the pitcher into throwing it again. That second one usually resulted in him mashing the hell out of it.

This is a pretty common strategy at the plate. Most hitters just sit fastball unless there's a reason to predict the pitcher will throw something else.

@@amazin7006 There are multiple types of of pitches that cross the plate at different speed, angles, location, and spin depending on how it's thrown. Manny would try to bait a pitcher into throwing the same pitch twice by purposefully swinging just to get a feel for the pitch
