This is a hauntingly beautiful song. Seems almost prophetic with him dying at a relatively young age. I just love the sound of his voice I can listen to his songs over and over again and never get tired of hearing his beautiful voice. This man could SING!

Personally, I’m a huge Benjamin Orr fan. I love his work, performance and music with The Cars as well as a solo artist. I believe if he had a better management and public relation team, he would have been inducted in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist. It’s so sad that this wonderful man had to depart this world when he had so much to offer. Meanwhile, we still have a part of his soul, music and legacy that means that he could never die. His spirit is eternal in our hearts forever. God bless his soul, family, friends, love ones and global fans all around the world!!!!

Been listening to all of their music for 35 years non stop. Recently heard this song that I did not know existed. AMAZINGLY GOOD! One thing about these guys is you can feel their music! Ben and Rick made the Cars who they are but Ben was the lead man for sure. Thank you for posting this song I play it over and over. God Bless Sadly Missed!

that was your endocine system Sh. It always is, and humans, who aren't typically educated in biology or medicine, have no way to interpret what they feel, so they unwittingly rely upon superstitious thinking. This is the critical difference between alert, and sycophantic populations. This is also why the humans stay locked into a type of suicide in progress. Their more daft individuals rely on magical thinking, and often resort to violence well before critical thinking sorts of persons. We're doomed!

If I had to guess, this song is about the period in his life when everything just ended quickly. The break up of The Cars, DPG, no other solo work. It’s someone at the heights who lost it all . Soaring and then crashing . The lyrics express it all so beautifully.
@Annanardi-pb3zo10 ай бұрын
I believe you’re correct. To add to that, his brief marriage to Judith Orr had also ended. She claimed he went through horrible dark bouts of depression in which he was silent and withdrawn from her. IMO, she married him quickly and without understanding the nature of the rebound or how trying depression can be on a relationship. He swept her off her feet with romance and she was not made of the right stuff to be a strong partner or a ride or die wife. She was, in my opinion, what should have remained casual girlfriend material.
@Annanardi-pb3zo10 ай бұрын
Also… Julie Snider proved to be the earth angel Ben needed to pass from this life into the hereafter. God, in his infinite wisdom and mercy, sends us what we need. The band of brothers in Big People were a godsend in much the same way.
