I liked most of the films on the list ( Giant did not appeal to me). Here are a few more no particular order. 1: No Name On The Bullet: Why? How Audie Murphy’s character was stopped and his fate 2; Stir Crazy: Why? The very idea of a prison rodeo. Maybe the most overlooked western comedy. 3:: Westward The Women: Why? A primarily female dominated western. 4: The Secret of Convict Lake: Why? Again strong women and a murder mystery ( rare for a western) 5: The Texan: Why? Gary Cooper has to pretend to be the man he killed for the benefit of the victim’s mother and remains that way even at the end. 6: Saddle The Wind: Why? John Cassavetes committing suicide so he would not have to draw against his brother Robert Taylor. 7: The Man From Monterrey: Why? John Wayne’s strangest western. He was more like Errol Flynn with the sword then gun or fists. They actually had a character in drag as well ( not Wayne)
