Audi's don't rust because they're galvanized only the older Audi A8 from 1994 till 2002 had a aluminum space frame, since 2002 they have started making a multimaterial space frame for the A8 d3.

I am surprised you are surprised. I didn't know Audi's were not supposed to rust. The A8 is Aluminium, but the rest for the most parts is usual Steel.

of course the bumber has a different color because its plastic and the rest of the car aluminium. The silver makes the difference even bigger because silver is really difficult to paint, even for proffesional car builders like Audi, BMW, Mercedes etc. You will always see this even on newer cars (maybe not to so heavy as on a 2006 car, but the difference between the color of plastic and of steel or aluminium is always a notch different).

i agree about the difference in color. but the A4 is not in aluminium. only the A8 use to come in full alluminum body i think.

+Aldin Bibic thanks :) . and yes you do have a valid point. it think it is because plastic bumper degrade faster than the rest of the car. which is way the color began to fade away faster. this is also way usually you need more clues to give a crash and repair verdict over a bumper color.

I've had my 2.0 FSiT Quattro from new, 12 years ago, and have put 145,000 miles on it. Beyond standard servicing the only issue during that entire time has been a new exhaust about a year ago (and after 11yrs I can live with that). Otherwise it's been 100% reliable.

Light Surfer I learnt the hard way within six months of ownership oil chain pump went costing me £4000+ repair bill at 90k miles and Audi didn’t give a shit even though it’s a well known Audi UK fault they wanted nothing to do with it.
