I have a '24 RS3 and it's the best daily I've ever owned. Competent and comfortable but manages not to be soulless because of the engine. Over 30 mpg on the highway, 0-60 in ~3.4, backseats have enough room, fun on the track, physical buttons for everything. Car journalists love cars that are awesome on the track (so do I) but for something you drive everyday this is an amazing formula - especially if you live somewhere that gets rain or snow.

Love it, but couldn't justify the cost. Got a used R8 for the same money, then got a used S3 for peanuts which I modified to RS3 performance including lots of suspension mods and the reverse stagger tires. Best of both worlds!

I’ve had my ‘23 RS3 for over a year now. It’s my favorite car that Audi has ever made, and I plan to keep driving it for as long as I can. I didn’t really do a “does this make financial sense” calculus; I just really like the car and buy the things I like.

I was curious about that comment that Matt made about 80,000 RS3s sold globally each year, so I looked it up. That's actually the total number of RS3s sold since they started making them in 2011. Since I got my '24 RS3 in January I've only seen 2 other 8Ys on the road. Granted, I live in mostly rural central NY state, but I still see countless other cool cars on a weekly basis. Definitely a rare car and an absolute perfect daily driver for me.

Ай бұрын
I was about to make the same comment. The boys make some good content, but a lot of erroneous comments from them lately. How on Earth does he really think they sell that many annually, if that were the case Audi wouldn't be laying off 15% of their workforce right now. They sales are way down right now. It's clear he wasn't paying attention during the press briefing in Spain, because one of the other video reviews of the rs3 that went up the same day, that reviewer quotes the stat correctly. Total production output since 2011
@kjbcny
@kjbcny Ай бұрын
@@kcw9313 To be fair, not many people are going to even consider dropping $70k on a compact car, which I'm sure has some impact on sales. Also, like all of their RS models, Audi simply does not produce many of these cars compared to their standard ones. For myself, while I am sure that Covid had something to do with it, it took over 2 years from order date until my car even went into production. I was 1st in line at my dealer, and while they did get two factory-spec cars sent to them before mine was made I declined them both due to not having the spec I wanted.

RS3 @ 31:10 - Looking into the RS3 (US). If you can get an allocation, and wait 12-24 months for one and can get it for MSRP and want to lease it I was told 7-10% interest rate for tier 1 credit. Put a deposit down on one in May for MSRP. However 2 different dealers I spoke with are willing to give discounts on the new S3 with incentivized rates so is it worth getting hosed on the financing for an RS3 if you can’t pay cash or should you consider new S3 as a daily?

As a live shopper for any gen Cayenne Hybrids, my perfect would be a 958 GTS Hybrid (V8-h). The 958 S e-hybrid's supercharged v6 doesn't have the novelty enough to change from our Lexus LS's Yamaha V8. Meanwhile the only V8 cayenne hybrid is a twin turbo V8 that's way too overkill for my dad to drive to church and the grocery stores when his trips will be mostly electric, which is why I was into the Hybrids at all. An NA V8 + Hybrid range (GTS-h) would be perfect IMO

I make a point to never touch my phone if possible while I’m driving. I’d rather miss a text message by 5 mins than risk my and others safety on the road. When I had my Mini, it had a button to activate Siri and I would send messages that way, which was helpful and now in my Miata, I just have to hold on my phone and activate Siri to send a text if required. I get that a lot of people don’t care about the texting and driving rules (which sucks), but I do my best too put safety above all else so voice assistance is a plus for me.

I had the same realization about "how much horsepower do you need?" on a much more modest scale. I was coming out of a 2004 normally aspirated Outback where I had to plan for highway passes and spend more time in the right lanes than I expected when loaded down with family and gear. So when it was time for a new vehicle, I was sure I "needed" the 260hp turbocharged engine in the XT Outback. So that's what I got. Then I had a long-term loaner with the normally aspirated engine and I discovered that it not only got much better mileage, but it did all the passing/accelerating/driving things I needed it to do just fine. Now, I'm sticking with the XT, but when it's time for something else, I'm definitely going to have more of an open mind about how much HP I ACTUALLY need in a family vehicle.

From other reviews I’ve watched on the 2025, accidental presses were not happening. It’s such a huge mistake to have haptic anything on steering wheels. I think Europe passed a law making haptic on steering wheels a no-go for future cars. Any manufacture making wheels with haptics, has to replace them with real buttons. It was such an absurd trend.

@OdyTypeR
@OdyTypeR Ай бұрын
No it's not. Frontal area of the car gets multiplied by the coefficient of drag to get the actual drag force. I.e. drag is based on frontal area Coefficient of drag is independent of frontal area. That's why the Ferrari's _drag_ is so low. The Ferrari's _coefficient of drag_ is low because slippery mirrors, underbody aero, flush mount glass, etc.
