Great content, I could watch this for hours. I wish I could find such a reputable, professional and knowledgeable shop that's also reasonably priced here in US, New York. I'd get back into B8/8.5 S4/S5 - used to love my B8 apr stage 2 dual pulley and manual S4. A question, did you ever have to deal with or repair rear sport diff with torque vectoring on any of these s4/5's and other Audi's that have it? That was my biggest fear when I had mine since I heard it's a non serviceable item and you have to swap the whole unit if it breaks.

Not as i know, but you can do preventive maintenance, changing oil every 35k to avoid starving due to slow leak. Be sure you use proper type and change both oils.

What was the reason for changing the Chains ? I know that 3.0 have some chain rattle during a cold start after 2-3 days of sitting. There is a TSB about that. Tough audi mentioned that even though there is a rattle for 1 sec, this doesn't affect the engine. There is a revised version of the tensioners.

This is a very common issue with all Audi FSI/TFSI motors, its not the chains, the plastic guides deteriorate and break after 8-12 years. This can lead to the cams skipping and pistons colliding with the valves. Wish they kept the timing belts.

Man when they break they really break . I rebuilt A 5hp transmision on a C5 Sline with 2.7t what a pain in the ass . Im not a fan of their current platform mounting timing components on the rear of the engine. extremely labor intensive. whish they bring it back up front. for now thats why i like the smaller 2.0s way easier to work on and maintain in my Opinion. lol. cheers

Fantastic video thanks for sharing really enjoying the channel ❤️ Just a question have you ever replaced a rear coil spring on a 2015 Audi A4 saloon? There’s no video on KZbin to show the repair… I was told it’s a bit of a pig of a job because you have to drop the rear cross member on one side to get the spring out and even at that it’s very difficult,, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Eric.

Yeah, that would be a pain! Cost saving but tiresome and frustrating! I’m very resilient to DIY tasks but I’m not looking forward to this job or doing it. I love my B8 S4 but man is the engine out meme strong. Better than a B5 but never as easy as R5VT 1.8t and EA888 jobs on these chassis. These guys are rewarded in labor by dropping the motor out it’s a huge time savings. Oh and Audi engineers if you could please start putting your timing gear back on the front of your V motors. I know it won’t happen but one can wish.

An Audi motor pissing coolant and oil from every seam, a routine engine out maintenance at the 100k mark to replace $1500 of failed timing tensioners, every single upper cylinder o ring and cam girdle seal. German engineering like clock work, it fails without fail. Might as well replace the fuel pump, pcv and injectors as they go at about 120k
