Another possible cause of water on the floor is the sunroof drain hose connector at the front. The hose is originally glued to a plastic connector that attaches to the sunroof gutter. That glue can fail and esp. in heavy rain causing the water to leak down the inside of the A pillar, across the fuse panel and onto the floor. Easiest way to check for that is open the fuse panel inside on the side of the dash and check for water. The fix for this is to pull the headliner at the front, taking out the visor and pull handle, to access the hose and connector and apply some sealant.

Just bought mine and saw that the passenger side was full of water, saw this vid poured some water on that side and guess what, its went directly to the ac fan. Thanks for the video my man

It’s the scuttle drain running below in that dam beneath it. You need to vacuum out all of those leaves and clear the grommet. When it rains, that drain is plugged and that dam literally fills up and the water is pouring down into your blower motor and beyond.

On the A5 TDI VW platform there's a rubber grommet on the passenger side that often gets knocked out or goes missing. I made a video on my channel about it.

Thanks I'll have to check this. Have a Q5 as well and passenger floor was soaked when I got it. Has an aftermarket windshield that was installed pretty shoddy. Hopefully I can still get the lip back underneath.

@@janbuti6089 Not sure what it was caused by exactly. I used RTV on the seal when I put it back on, even though the seal looked fine, dried the carpets and it's been fine since. That was in the winter, though, and the previous owner might have had snowy/watery boots all the time that caused it, no idea. It's not wet anymore, though.

Hey napttown ny wife slid into a curb at 10kmph and her alignment is fine but the wheel has a wierd sloppy spot in it , no bent control arms or any components down their . Could it be a steering shaft ?

I have exact same water leak problem at the passenger side. I am following your suggestion with the hope it will solve the issue. I am thinking of sitting the water deflector on a silicon sealant, cos for some reason this deflector not sit properly in the lip.

My 2009 A4 Quattro Avant leaks water from the roof. after heavy rains you would see water even in the trunk and also on rear seats dripping from the roo. How Can I clear rear roof drainage tube. it's not possible to see those rear roof drains. on the drains going to front doors are visible. It's causing mess on headliner etc...

My Blower Fan was completely seized as well. I dismantled the plastic case on the blower and found the bushing at the bottom (lowest point when fan is installed) completely rusted. I cleaned the rust up with a brass brush and sprayed Kroil onto the outer bushing at the shaft. After several hours, I worked it around and got things free. I used an air compressor to clean out all the dust (some was burned carbon from the brushes) and then hosed the motor assembly internals down with contact cleaner. It only took about 30 minutes of actual work to get things back into working order. Blower fan seems to be working properly now.

Likely sunroof drain. Open your doors and look very closely along rubber trim and you’ll spot the very small holes for drainage. Trace em down on each connection and use a toothpick or something non-damaging to clean them up so water can flow freely. Just a guess, but free and easy to check and maintain. Good luck

iv replaced that whole shroud with the grill on it and it still leaks, i wonder if it is dripping right in from that top

If the seal at the windshield comes loose it sure can, especially if you have a powerful weather event. The water will leak past the plastic plenum tray and hang on to the bottom of the plastic. As the water pours under the tray it will hang on just long enough to go right into the fresh air intake. It acts like a funnel and channels the water directly into your Blower Fan. It will then drip past and flood the carpet. It will keep going until it reaches the lowest point under the passenger seat (LHD models). Unfortunately, this area contains electronics (Telephone/Bluetooth module). If this area gets submerged, this could turn into a rather expensive job.

I have a 2012 q5 and had heavy condensation on the inside of the sunroof and beads of water dripping down the inside of the windshield after heavy rain and snow. Wet spot on floor of rear passenger floor. No visible water stains on headliner. Any suggestions?

@@kathywilson3400 found out there are 2 drain holes on each side in the front. Open the sun roof and you will see them in each corner where the roof closes. Use a very small needle or dental pick to push through each one then poor water in them and shoot Ir through them. Worked on mine.

Man that's nuts. Audi has so many design flaws. Not a huge issue, but for a "luxury" high end automobile.....not acceptable IMO.
