The quality you talk about is not from top to bottom or from a bottom to top approach. Quality builds up from and individual. There are people employed in Google who are not even graduates. Similarly, there are instances where IITans have been employed by people who have not even passed out of their high schools. It's about the quality of the individual not the institute. @@sumitsharma-us2sl I have changed multiple companies in my career, reasons... 1. They were getting more unemployed people who were demanding less salaries, so the managers decided to hire for less. Of course they gave other reasons, confidential, so even I don't know. 2. One telecom company used to ask us to do overtime almost everyday for virtually no extra payment, I did overtime for 6 months without pay, but after 6 months I joined an advanced degree course and wanted to attend only weekend classes, but the manager refused even that, manager kept forcing me to do overtime specially on weekend, and when I said No, that's when they started harassing me, first they changed my shift timing to make me uncomfortable, then they started auditing my performance everyday, more than other executives, then they started sending me to HR for lame reasons like I go to washroom too often, even when I don't even smoke, I take longer breaks, even when only just a few time I was late by 5 minutes, I was sent to HR office, my targets were being monitored extra carefully and when they saw that I am still not ready to give up, the manager started literally shouting at me in front of everyone in the office for the slightest mistake, and started threatening me to fire, and that's when I asked a few tough question as how this small thing can lead to termination and other employees favored me, so he backed off and after a week he made my performance report in such a way that I was looking a burden on the company and then again I was sent to HR, who ultimately asked me politely to resign with 30 day period to find another job, I tried to reason my botched up report and tried to tell how I was being harassed for overtime, to which HR politely said that reasons are confidential and can't be discussed, also I should not be complaining about forced overtime because it's industry's trend to milk the employees like that and that she can't do anything in this regard. I got the idea and left the job immediately and that turned out good for me because I was stuck in this company for many years and never tried any other company and after leaving this company I joined an MNC with almost double the package. So guys, if you think you are working hard for the company and in turn company will also look after you, then you are at fault, do your job with full devotion and be always ready to switch, also try to invest some money every month in bonds or safe shares and you will be always free from worries. Companies are never your friend, they are using you, and doing that very badly, they may say that they are doing favors to you by paying you but without you they will be out of business, for these companies, you are either an asset or a liability, not a human being, they don't care if you fall sick or you have some other problems, they mean business, as long as they are making profit by using you, you will keep working for them, if they see they are getting same skills in less pay, they will fire you in no time. That's why west out source their menial jobs to third world countries, so that they get the work done in less pay and that leads to more profits, they don't bother about their own citizens loosing jobs, indian businesses have similar mentality. You are either an asset or a liability to the company, they don't consider you a human, you are just a resource for them, Human Resource.

Learnings after getting laid off during this pandemic from my company: 1 ) companies are not loyal to you so you better treat them that way...start searching jobs after 2 years or else u enter the comfort zone and expect no career growth or salary. 2) always keep upgrading your learning and skillset. And keep giving interview to know the current market demands of skills and technology. 3) never share what your plans are with anybody ....anybody even with ur good friends .esp your personal stuff.

I'm not sure if how many people know about this.... But it's not the HR who expels any employee from the organization, but the decision is solely from the particular project leadership and all the HR department does is facilitate the exit process, in the same way as they facilitate the onboarding process to fill the project requirement as directed by the business /project. Blaming the HR for the expulsion is similar to shooting the bearer of bad news.
@rarags7773 жыл бұрын
But when you do the job , you have to take the blame . Fyi HR is the one who is the bridge between employees and employer (leadership). HR should have spine to inform management, what happens in india is spineless HR department ppl who act as puppets of management or " particular project leadership ". If it is just a job of facilitating then why did we study organization behaviour, HRD , Etc ? Even a pune or clerk with basic degree can facilitate paperwork or system work to explain that he/she employee is exiting or joining etc. What is the use of professional education , If u cannot streamline firing & hiring process!?
@dhanraj55363 жыл бұрын
Most of them who blame HR are influenced by KZbinrs or not from IT service sector.
@nicky2all73 жыл бұрын
@@rarags777 Very well said. But what you said is the ideal situation, and all of us working in corporate India know that things are nowhere near ideal. Yes, showing spine sounds very idealistic, and there are situations where you try to do it and there are situations where it doesn't work because it's not the spine of one person which decides things in the company. And before you go about saying that the HR department should stand up for everything.... Think about it, even they are employees of the organization rather than being an independent function. There are a lot of situations where things goes really well for the employees because of the HR interventions.... But understandably, those stories doesn't get as much of a traction like the ones mentioned in this audio clip. And I'm sure you wouldn't have thought even for once regarding how it's like working for a department which handles every employee's issues, but inturn don't have anybody to turn to... Or put the blame on. And believe me.... It's not great ...and it's as equal bad as any other employee in the company or maybe even worse because you get blamed on one side and on the other side you don't really have anyone to help you out. So yes, when we think ideally... Things aren't working exactly the way they should, in every department /function. But should they function perfectly?... Yes!!!. But does that mean it doesn't function at all and that it's upto no good? .....No!. Certain things have got more than what meets the eye... As years pass by, things might move towards a more better corporate culture.... And all of us have our parts to play in it.

It is actually the H.R, whose words can hurt or make the employee understand why they are being fired which is certainly not the case here as we all can see this video on KZbin, it shows employee was not able to understand why she is getting fired, she is even cross questioning and what H.R is doing is keeping the secrets.

@@Manish-dh8gx That's true.... The HR in this case is pretty disappointing.

So according to HR, she's getting laid off for being a good performer.

Well, that is true. IT companies will lay off people when they gain so much experience in a field. As the experience gains, the company has to pay more. If they didn't pay well and keep them in the same salary, people say that this company will not give any hikes. So to reduce cost and avoid such a bad reputation. They fire the senior experience people and promote the lower level one to the senior with small hikes. You are just a resource for the IT company.

Overperforming is a thing. Some companies do reject good candidates up front during placements, as they think they are overqualified for the job they have to offer.

This is good. This video should be played before every "placement" in colleges. And if TCS or any other company gets infuriated and walks off the campus, then good riddance - more space for better companies. To the talented guys and girls in BE/BTech reading this - DO NOT JOIN THESE SHITTY SERVICE BASED COMPANIES. It's better to spend another year preparing for Masters and/or competitive exams or get some external certification than joining these for "experience". You learn NOTHING in the first two or three years of joining these companies - the fourth year you learn that you wasted nearly 1500 days of your life.

It's very hectic to work in TCS and also nepotism and manager are also shows their power to defame junior employees.

@@daruiraikage If you are very good in technical then don't waste your time in TCS. Seniors and Managers will not recognize you even if you worked hard. I suggest to start your career in product based companies like Amazon solutions, PWC, Deloitte etc and if you really want to work in service based companies then go for capgemini, Accenture or IBM. TCS, CTS and Wipro are not good for freshers. They will not teach you anything and you will waste your time to learn IT politics and useless management stuff.

@@techgyan495 I see, thanks for the insight. I unfortunately do not have strong technical skills. I am blank when it comes to DSA and have no real developmental background. Just another third tier college graduate. Is tcs good enough for someone like me? Almost impossible for me to get placed in product based companies. I have heard tcs is like a govt. job, no real work load. Lots of formalities only. And politics as you said. As long as they pay me 25k monthly, and dont overwork me like a donkey, I think i would survive. Other service based companies stopped hiring my batch.

I still remember the day when I joined TCS , same day TCS fired 25,000 to 30,000 mid senior employees and people call its a government company.
