I'm not sure why people are hating on his voice then. I think he sounds amazing to be honest. He's always sounded amazing
@dylaneverhartmusic4 жыл бұрын
@Douche Monkey pretty certain that performance was overdubbed later. You can find the actual live version on KZbin and it's nowhere near as clean/polished Edit: Here kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGOTnJiHqZVnqJY
@dylaneverhartmusic4 жыл бұрын
@Douche Monkey oh ok if the one I linked to is the one you're referring to, then no that was not dubbed, that's really his live performance. There's another version of the same performance which is a lot cleaner and thats the one I'm saying is dubbed. This one kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqW7ZIueZs5jd5o Cochise starts around 14 minute mark

This is the only time I ever heard him sing and thought Layne was maybe better. Obviously Laynes career was shorter so he didn’t shred his voice. I think Chris was also at or near the end of his drinking at this time too, those are all factors. Either way Chris is allowed to have one off day surely. RIP legend/prophet

@@sideskroll I agree, the first notes in the studio version are better than the live ones I saw. But 110% studiomagic I have to disagree on. He gets pretty close(enough). And the dude could sing theres is no question about It. His BillyJean cover haunts me till this day

@mitusjmp Secondly..ANY outdoor show is not a controlled environment like a studio. You would know the specific problems that come about with playing outdoors if you had actually done so. The heat from the outdoors itself mixed with a mass conglomerate of people standing in one gigantic spot, the humidity that deadens the bounce back on both the drums and the strings of the instruments forms condensation and the stage which is usually covered in a black tarp or cloth..cont.

@mitusjmp ...and lastly...in addition to ALL of this evidence to the contrary of your assertion that Cornell is just studio magic...this specific song is at the VERY END of an outdoor set. Check out how much all of these guys are sweating and how tired they are. I've been there...you want to get the audience to sing as much as possible (which Cornell does) and the whole band wants nothing more at that point than to get the fuck out of Dodge.
