Freddie Mercury would be one of the only better singers in history imo
@redflame45584 жыл бұрын
@S I disagree, as well. (I agree w/ you.) Now, for the record, I believe Freddie Mercury was *THE BIGGEST BADASS* to ever grace the stage in his time. He was a fantastic... no, a *LEGENDARY* ... frontman & had the vocal chops to match! But, Chris Cornell, w/ his combined talents / contributions to music, actually SURPASSED Mercury, imo. (Although, man... that Live Aid performance was something out of this world.) See, Fred didn't do so great without Queen (or Brian May's genius) ... ever. None of his solo projects ever caught much traction. Especially when compared to Queen. (Though that isn't really a fair comparison.) However, let's go ahead & use that same unfair comparison for Chris. How did he do working alone? Incredible, you say? Oh, & people were more than "responsive" to his song covers, as well? Like, they were played everywhere? Radio, concerts & concert halls w/ orchestras, benefits, etc? Hmm. How about with other bands? Were those projects *all* successful, too? Yeah? Enough said. Cornell had the Midas touch.
@illiji9154 жыл бұрын
@@redflame4558 i agree with you but I think you overthought it. "VOICE of a generation." By voice alone, I would hand it to Freddy Mercury for basically the 20th century. For the overall impact on musical artists. I think Chris edges him out. Both however, are amazing musical icons that will be remembered forever for being legendary in their own ways.
@redflame45584 жыл бұрын
@@illiji915 No, no... I get it, man. I maybe should've stressed that I simply prefer Chris's voice or varietal vocal range OVER Freddie's. (But, I still absolutely LOVE Freddies voice.) See, I thought that was already super obvious from my reply to @S. HOWEVER, it may not have been. Bcuz, you may not have noticed, but I was replying... to a reply... to a comment. lol So, sometimes things can get jumbled. I've done it, myself. I used a Sony RX100vi, which is an incredible camera. I usually have much better seats so the detail is a bit compromised, but even from the upper level half an arena away with the zoom lens maxed out, the clarity and lighting turned out surprisingly well.

@disturbed4everluke5 жыл бұрын
it was hard for me to hear...but it seemed like he had to scream it to hit it. which is by no means easy...but it's not liking singing it like chris did with a clean clear chest voice with added distortion on top. i can't say too much though, this is hard as hell to sing...i do it in bands and depending on the day i might blow myself out. it's a b4 which is only one whole step away from what girls are expected to sing in classical music...so yeah it's definitely high...sing this one whole step higher and you're singing in the female alto register.
@MouthForWar1245 жыл бұрын
@@disturbed4everluke Dude it's a tribute show, no need to look that much into it.
@disturbed4everluke5 жыл бұрын
@@MouthForWar124 i don't follow your logic. you shouldn't analysis music based on the fact it's a tribute? that seems a rather silly notion. if you do a screamo version of a michael jackson song as a tribute would people not comment on that and talk about the way the singer choose to vocalize? how does the intent of the song effect people's ability to try and understand how a person is achieving an effect? really don't understand how those two have a correlation in your mind. if i was doing a tribute to a girl singer...it's likely i might have to use falseto to hit her notes...would it be weird to point out that i have to use falsetto to hit her notes even though i'm just doing a tribute? no. are you under the illusion i was saying dave was doing a bad job? because if so that's not the case. i was simply pointing out the differences in how they attacked this vocal in their technique. the technique of vocal is interesting to me...why would the fact this is a tribute mean you shouldn't comment on the technique 2 different singers used to sing the same song?
@ReviewingGrifter2 жыл бұрын
@@disturbed4everluke, I can sing the chorus in the same octave either belting or in Mix. My mix actually sounds like CC’s voice (refer to my ‘Cochise’ cover on profile.) It’s actually a lot easier for me to sing CC in mix because of the tone and I don’t have to work my voice as much.
@disturbed4everluke2 жыл бұрын
@@ReviewingGrifter yeah! i kinda can mix down that low but it's difficult. i'm a tenor and my mix (head dominate atleast) doesn't really work untill around the c#5 very consistently. i would have to raise the key to sing this in my mix but you're right it'd be easy feeling compared to belting and still sound mostly like chris in mix. just add a little bit of distortion and try and have some depth to it and there you are. getting that cordination in the first place is the hard part haha.

No he didn't. Wake the fuck up. Dave Grohl is a fake ass piece of shit who cares more about looking good than being good. It's all attention for him. He sounded like shit singing this song. Jade X Bro, I don't know what you have against Dave Grohl but I can assure you, as someone who has seen the Foo Fighters live, he can both sing extremely well without effects and belt out screams.
