Marcus Starman No it’s actually not...wishing someone else to stay in such a hell for your feelings and yours alone is selfish.

@Marcus Starman no one ever wants to take their life, depression is a horrible thing to be dealt. You could be sitting on your bed, praying for the first time in your life, for your life. Depression can make suicide seem like the only option, the only way to end the suffering. Is it really selfish to at least try and achieve a shred of happiness? To end the burden that has overcome your life? No.

On a cobweb afternoon In a room full of emptiness By a freeway I confess I was lost in the pages Of a book full of death Reading how we'll die alone And if we're good, we'll lay to rest Anywhere we want to go In your house I long to be Room by room patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone On my deathbed I will pray To the gods and the angels Like a pagan to anyone Who will take me to heaven To a place I recall I was there so long ago The sky was bruised The wine was bled And there you led me on In your house I long to be Room by room patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone Alone And on I read Until the day was gone And I sat in regret Of all the things I've done For all that I've blessed And all that I've wronged In dreams until my death I will wander on In your house I long to be Room by room patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone Alone

With you words to this song, your presence in my time of darkness along with our lord and savior you kept me from making the worst mistake of my and my families lives. May the words of your beautiful poetic songs save the live of many more depressed suicidal suffering people. Like I said before, Chris wasn't just a singer but a selfless acting advocate to the troubled and depressed children of god. Rest in peace my brother

Everytime I listen to this song it hits me emotionally to know he passed. Both my parents took it pretty hard as well, I grew up having his music as my childhood soundtrack. It wasn't till I was 19 that I really got into his music. Like A Stone is a one of a kind song, it's about waiting for death... Chris only knows why he was waiting. All I can say is I never got to see him in Dallas again, it hurts... he died a week before their show. I will always remember seeing him and Chester during the Project Revolution 2008.
