As a singer myself, he taught me so much about breathing techniques and true musicianship when I was a teenager. My wife is sick of me getting teary eyed while talking about his passing. But to those who really felt his soul in his voice, you understand. Rest and fly high, brother in arms.

Chris wrote this song for his best friend & roommate, Andy Wood, lead singer of Mother Love Bone, after he died suddenly & unexpectedly from an overdose in '90. By writing "Say Hello to Heaven" & "Reach Down", Chris was able to channel his grief & mourn the loss of his friend. Horrible, horrible irony, we have to listen to his song now, to ease our pain, for Chris' untimely death. Gone too soon. #LoudLove #NobodySingsLikeYouAnymore #SayHelloToHeaven #BeforeWeDisappear

RIP Bobby & Chris... Curing depression: This is the cure that big pharma don't want u to know about! A bottle of this stuff sent through the mail is less then 30 bucks! Phenylalanine is available in three chemical forms: L-phenylalanine, the natural form of phenylalanine found in proteins throughout the body, D-phenylalanine, a mirror image of L-phenylalanine that is synthesized artificially, and DL-phenylalanine, a combination of the previous two forms. L-phenylalanine can be converted into L-tyrosine, a non-essential amino acid, which is in turn converted into L-DOPA. L-DOPA is a precursor for, norepinephrine (noradrenalin), and epinephrine (adrenaline). Small amounts of D & L Phenylalanine will cure depression! The only catch is U need to order D & L Phenylalanine from a real healthfood store. A bottle of this stuff sent through the mail is less then 30 bucks! Hope this helps someone U love - Godspeed from michael...

Chris was incredible. Not only did he have a full 4 octave range and superior control. He also had a signature 'rasp, or gravel' that he could both control and use at will during a song. That's what truly separated him from many great singers. He had some vocalist superpowers if you will and g'damn I'm so glad I lived to experience his talents! 👏🤟✊️

I can't believe he's gone. feels like a piece of my teenage years are gone. I just want to be 16 again when life was easy and I could sit in my room and listen to Soundgarden, Nirvana , pearl Jam, STP, Alice and Blind Melon. I miss those times so much. Everytime one of them passes I'm just reminded of how long ago the 90s are and that nobody will experience another time in music like that. wish I could personally say thank you to Chris, Layne, Shannon , Kurt and Scott.

Chris I was a jr high kid lost in my life. As a man because of you I grabbed a six string and played along with you and half gallon after half gallon of whiskey I cried days at a time over women and life and you got me through those cold Northern Maine nights, running from cops and life. Ty my friend I will miss you

As a born and raised Seattleite in his mid 50's, I cried when I heard Chris Cornell passed. I cried like a little child who lost his most cherished possession.. The ones that make us happy the most are the ones unhappy inside. Life really sucks sometimes. Be kind to your fellow human.

I wish Chris was still here selfishly. His voice is better than any religion and I tear just hearing his words.

He has a lot of soul in his voice that is genuine. It comes from a place in your mind that has a lot of feeling. He is able to express it, but it does take a toll on your emotions. It is a very personal thing to sing like this in front of strangers. Many musicians are introverts. Some are able to escape the venue and live within themselves during a performance. Some of them cannot and they sit up their dying inside. Chris is one of the greatest singers we have ever known. There is another. Look up Ann Wilson of Heart. They became friends. It was bound to happen. Their souls are much the same.

Andy's terribly missed...he missed the whole early 90s GRUNGE scene and WOOD have been the biggest of them all..RIP Mother Love Bone/Andy WOOD....
@richardmbowman8 жыл бұрын
"Landrieu" (Andy Wood)...was indeed "the shit"...a sight & sound to behold. But "wood have been the biggest of them all"...? I don't fuckin' think so...! Vedder ain't no slouch. Cobain...? 'nuf said..! Nobody screams like Cornell (The best singer to have emerged from Washington State-and that's saying a lot). And then there's Layney. There's nobody who can howl...wail.. like that motherfucker...! Nobody. And stage presence...? Staley's got 'em all beat...!
@jeffdarnell31548 жыл бұрын
+Richard Marshall Bowman Yeah..Staleys always been my fav...but he let me down when he chose heroin over his career and fans. And yes, I'm a Bail/Recovery Agent and a Certified Addiction Specialist...working in Opioid Addiction. I don't know about you, but I'm for Chattanooga Tenn., and started going to Seattle in 86 when one of my buddies got a marketing job there. Green River, The Melvins, Tad, Malfunkshun were big then, and their shit was taped all over Seattle...I don't have to tell you EVERYONE has their own opinions, and I never really got into Nirvana and Cobain especially, after marrying that damned skank...
@jeffdarnell31548 жыл бұрын
+Richard Marshall Bowman and nobodied ever heard of Vedder if Landrew hadn't killed himself with that shit,,,

Jeff Darnell Who married whom is no business of mine. Nor the ways or means of anyone's dying. I'm not judging...looks, character, habits, etc. I look at..& listen to the art....and I've seen it up close (I've lived in Seattle my entire life). Cornell has been called.....with some justification...an arrogant asshole. But he is the greatest singer to have come out of this area- "Bing Crosby, Ernestine Anderson, Jimi, Ann Wilson, Geoff. Tate, Cobain, Vedder, Ben Gibbard, Mary Lambert, Jerry Cantrell, "Tad" Doyle, Merrilee Rush, Kenny Loggins, Arm, Diane Schuur, Robert Cray, Judy Collins, Isaac Brock, Mildred Bailey, Ray Charles, "Buzz," Mia Zapata, Lanegan, Dave Grohl, Sean Nelson, Kevin Martin, Ishmael Butler, Layne Staley & Andy Wood....notwithstanding! None of us can say what "woulda been" with absolute certainty. But no one can dispute what is & has been. Cornell has been "the shit" for over 20 years. His power, range (4 octaves!!!) & versatility are awesome. I don't think Landrew could've lasted as long nor matched Chris' abilities.

He was too "Poison" or "Motley Crue". He was not grunge. I am glad he wrote the songs that I have loved for decades, but he was not what was grunge in the early 90's.

Our hearts mourn when a loved one departs, but with courage, we learn to accept their absence in our lives. In gratitude, we appreciate the time that was given. AND With Love, the memories are not forsaken. We must create new ones so we can smile again. That's not to say We ever really get over devastating loss. In the thick of it, we almost stop breathing; sometimes maybe wishing we could. We know deep within ourselves we'll never be the same. Yet, one day we feel the sun on our face again. We find ourselves smiling at a child, or joke, or memory. At that moment we realize we are finding our way back. Changed forever? Yes. But we are softer, deeper, more vulnerable & loving too. Breathing again.

This performance is absolutely stunning. The song is amazing. Never heard such a strong voice to sound so damn different in the same song. He can sing sweet, calm, tender, hard, high,low, to change the notes so easy. His passion for music was above the skies...i guess he found that out up there. RIP GENIUS!
