He didn't want to admit that he wanted your details so he could look them up on his computer system and add another entry saying he'd seen you filming cars in a police yard. From there he wouldn't want to admit that such entries in their database might make your life more difficult in the future, due to other officers regarding you as a person of interest to the police. And all because of your 100% lawful and harmless activities. The police think they're so clever by asking for names "because we're just having a conversation - as a way to milk personal info from us that goes into additional entries on their database. But we the viewers of this channel are not stupid. We know their game. And it's not a nice one from our point of view.

Also the report from a few months back, shows how police is stil racist, misogynist, and stuck in mentality from 40 years ago (full of people with the average education, who basically couldn't not find a job anywhere else, or make career in their original field of study. All they could do at the end is... join the police). Even chief of Police in UK was vocal about it in the news and media. And the same report has mentioned, that about 30% of women police officers have experienced abuse at workplace, and few % reported sexual abuse. Just sad. Start with something like, basic stuff: simply google "Met police found to be institutionally racist, misogynistic and homophobic" or "Discrimination, funding, public trust - what Casey says about the Met police"... And go from there. All in all, nothing has changed, in the last 20-30+ years, except it got worse: most of police in UK is just a bullies with the badges, with the average inteligence and education, and inability to do anything else in their own life (based on their own education), except joining the police. As there was nothing else that they could do.

Bike registration is so they can have info on kids their address parents names address and if they want to id a child they can say I need to check if your bike is stolen then see the id and know your details. If you want to secure your bike add your own id or customise it and take a photo then if it’s stolen you have a id for the bike only to give them rather then them always having your full id on file
