Edit: I can’t believe I need to translate this for you losers but here we go. “SHE escalated, not the cops.” Translation: SHE escalated, not the cops. Incorrect Translation: the cops were right because they’re wonderful and never do anything wrong. Maybe READ what I say instead of making up nonsense. Calling her a garbage person doesn’t mean I support what the cops did… it means I think she’s a garbage person. The video discussed what the police did wrong but didn’t call out her bad behavior. What this really amounts to is a classic example of how cops are allowed to lie! This wasn't even a traffic stop! Car thefts in broad daylight in a busy strip mall location? Wasn't even a good lie! This was a case of racial profiling based on the fact the car had out of state plates, and that cop was looking for a notch on his gun belt! The muting of the webcams is a crime also, but instead of charging these officers with crimes, the department promoted the officers to sergeants, and nothing happened to the officers. That is the sad part of all of this....justice was served, but was it really, when nothing happens to the officers, and they get promotions? Corrupt department!!

@garywilson4621 My town is THE WORST. In 2011, I saw a guy pulled over in our local building center parking lot while I was in a mad dash for the store before it closed. He had a flat and appeared to be in his trunk, pulling his spare... I told my roommate we'd stop and offer help otw back if he was still there, but I had like 5 mins to make it to the shop. I returned within 10 mins. This man already had his car on a jack, but instead of the next step, he was sitting there while 2 officers were searching his vehicle. Smmfh I did proceed to pull in... but at that point, it was to be an asshole. I wanted to point out what an AWESOME job they were doing at "serving & protecting."... How honorable and noteworthy they were... What a GREAT JOB they were doing keeping the community safe. SMMFH It was disgusting. It was also before our town had body cams & long before I'd ever considered recording them on my phone. I sat on my hood with my roommate from the other side of the lot and heckled them (with sarcastic praise and clapping) as they violated this mans rights. They found nothing. I wish I'd gotten his last name... and video proof... I'm truly happy for this reckoning as of late, though, and praying it continues until we CURE the disease that is our police state.

@@roberthiggins8234 Your "reasons" only apply for when you're dealing with a conversation between two private individuals. Also, most of those "reasons" is when you're broadcasting a certain event so the private information is not given publicly. However, this is a police body cam. It's not like a book in the library that anyone can get their hands on. So, turning this off only means you're going "off the record" meaning you want to do/say something in secret. Also, the only thing this is possible is if there's both consent from the cop and the victim/person they are talking to and it's the other person's request. For a more specific example, an asset saying, "I'll say this but off the record." And both sides agreed.

That’s awesome. I’m in South Carolina have multiple sclerosis and was attacked by law enforcement officers working under SC Governor’s orders. I was slammed face first on my back porch, lost numerous teeth from being slammed on my face and lost all hearing in my right ear being attacked for something I didn’t do. Conveniently the State police officer retired about a month after he used excessive force on me, I don’t trust anyone in law enforcement because I have had whatever I was attacked for by these officers. Lost my hearing, teeth, rights to see my son because the individuals who stole my identity October 4, 2021 used what they only had access to by stealing my identity. SC lawyers and SC family court judges have judged me on the shit they conspired up against me. My house was shot up by sheriff’s deputies that shot my house up because of a suspect that broke into my house, not one police report was done, my statement as a victim and elderly mother statements were never taken. My house burned completely down after the family court judge ordered me to & contractors to stay out of my house I was having repaired after lightning hit it June 2021. I was paying for all of the repairs, having my home rewired because of law enforcement shooting holes in my house. No one believed anything I was saying because it was all truth, I don’t have a home because of this entire state’s corruption, my life and health compromised because of these people and by God I’ve given definitive evidence to prove who committed the crimes I was accused of doing. I’m homeless because of these people, lost hearing in my right ear, teeth knocked out and my rights to my son have been taken from me because of this disgusting, unethical and immoral behavior all the way to our SC Governor and I will not back down from this fight. Ex-wife’s divorce attorney needs to be sued also because she is one of the ones who stole my identity. I’m royally pissed. In fact a gentleman just filed lawsuits against sheriff’s department deputies in a county (15 minutes away from where I was attacked at my house) fired over 50 shots at the man while his mother was standing at the truck window talking to the young man who was going to commit suicide. Hit the man 9 times and he lived. So I’m going to keep pushing for justice because this shit I’ve been put threw because of my ex-wife’s affair has converted from justice to injustice for me. Damn these bitches & I’m pissed. Homeless, lost rights to seeing my son, lost hearing and teeth because of what I can put numerous witnesses in front of anyone to show I’ve been through a living hell. I want justice and restitutions for what myself and son have gone thru, I want my house rebuilt because everything I’m saying as been proven. Attacking disabled people appears to be an epidemic that has gone way too far in South Carolina. Yet this State has the “Good ole boy syndrome “ and someone like me has no rights. I NEED A LAWFIRM TO SUE THE HELL OUT OF EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE HELL MYSELF, ELDERLY MOTHER AND SON HAVE GONE THROUGH. Elderly mother testified In Family Court that my ex-wife ran over me trying to kill me and that’s been ignored because of all of this crap these other individuals committed. I want every damn penny I will be entitled to and don’t give a rat’s ass who the LAWFIRM that will represent me goes after. I mean every penny just for the principle of the matter.

@@carsen161616 that's not how settlements work. The defendant pays the plaintiffs legal fees, especially in a case like this. So the legal fees couldn't possibly make them get nothing, because their fees would be paid in addition to the settlement. Also, as someone else said they have already gotten 8.5 million. Its horrible that its taxpayers money, but the worse part is the promotion the officers got. Showing officers they can cost taxpayers millions and not only keep their job, but get promoted for it. It's disturbing. A lawsuit that big should be grounds for automatic firing. It shouldn't even be a question.

It's refreshing to hear UPDATES about these sorts of police interactions. As for this one NOT being settled, it's likely that one of two scenarios were in play. It's VERY likely that the city lawyers low-balled a settlement offer, and the Loggerville's lawyers felt confident that they could get a far better reimbursement from a trial. The other possibility is that the cities lawyers did NOT offer a settlement, because they mistakenly concluded that they would easily win in court. Instead of the cops being reprimanded, suspended, or even fired, they were promoted because EVERYONE ASSUMED that there was no way this family would win their lawsuit. And, again, there is not a single interaction that a LEO can't manage to escalate into unwarranted violence, death, or a violation of Rights.
