Ford GT Heritage Edition - Jay Leno Shows Donald Osborne Why He Loves This Racecar for the Road

It’s won at LeMans, and you can drive it on the street… essentially. The racing DNA of the GT is strong, and it’s not lost among the slight changes Ford had to make for it to be street legal. Most importantly, despite being down two cylinders from it’s predecessor, this EcoBoost V6 powered machine still screams like an American Bald Eagle. Happy 4th of July!

Years ago, I drove my 97 Corvette 5 hours to the beach, had a cup of she-crab soup, and drove 5 hours home. People often asked me, why didn't you stay at the beach longer? I just say "that wasn't the point of the trip."

But if I take 5 different routes from Flagstaff North or take a 2 lane winding road through Colorado to St George Utah and head South West to Las Vegas ??? I see an Adventure into the unknown highway and what Wonderful things lie ahead of me 🤔.... I prefer the less traveled road without a McDonald's or Taco bell every 5 miles... if you've seen one Burger King sign ??????? You've seen them all !!! My dad worked at a Gulf station in the 50s and very early 60s ( he then ran his own Phillips 66 station in Portsmouth, NH). I had two cars on my bedroom wall. A ISO Grifo A/3L in silver, followed soon after by a Ford GT40 in Gulf livery. Thanks for rekindling those memories.

I saw a review of the latest Corvette, the ferrari that inspired it and one of these Fords. They said this car is just about perfect. The ferrari is still awesome this many years later and the Corvette is the best bang for the buck, punches way above its weight so to speak This car is way more expensive, but apparently to get it to such a level, even though it is not at a much higher level, requires that much more effort/money

Yeah, the V-6 may sound good but the V-8 sounds great nothing no four banger. No six-cylinder nothing can sound like a V-8… that V6 is turbo charged it is turbo chargers will go bad and they will be a little pricey to replace I’m sure yeah the 2005 is super charged but I only nine Thunderbird super coupe and I haven’t had to replace the supercharger yet I replace a seal on the supercharger but the supercharger still works. Puts out 12 pound boost no problems I think super charging is much better than turbo charge.

Huh, the only thing I don't like is the seat belts. Being your sitting so low in the car the belts are to close to your neck. You get in a head on wreck and as you move forward your going to get strangled. They should have the racing style belts in there.... thats just how it appears to me.

As it is a road legal car, standard seat belts are required, but there is a loop through the seats that allows the attachment of race harnesses.

Why does Jay keep getting the whole "military grade aluminum" thing wrong? It wasn't competing manufacturers who coined the phrase (with the word steel) to counter Ford's use of aluminum.... it was Ford who started that nonsense in order to convince others it's aluminum was strong enough.

Every time I see Osborne I always enjoy his personality. I don't know him except as Jay's friend but I would trust him without question. He is responsible, accomplished, a high-quality guy in every way. The only other black man like this would be Doctor Ben Carson. Of course there must be more, but I just don't know who they are. Jay is a ford salesman, for that kind of price the new Corvette is a much better option, and Id buy a car by made by Jim Glickenhaus and he has raced and finished in races and drove home, so Jay cant stop his rhetoric, very dismissing to other small manufacturers like Jim, who beat Ford in the Baja race against the new Bronco, with his Baja Boot for example
