I think the best play against Germany if you’re ff’ing is an early pike shipment to take out the tp and defend against raids, or you make a full batch of Huss early or 2 batches of musk. There’s something to be said about needing to send a whole shipment to alter your play against a certain civ while they can follow the same build order... I play Germany but it’s a thought.

I think you're 100% right Kevin. I know a lot of top players will send pikes or make units vs Germans early, and I think it's imperative to do vs this strategy. The consequence is too much idle time, and it's best to begin working on the mass immediately.

Aussie, I love your content! I do have a request. For treaty games, the boundaries of where you can build are very small making it very difficult to build walls and protect your economy while having enough space for mills and estates. How would you go about fixing this? I have an idea to essentially divide all the maps in half so that teams are unable to build past a specific point. This would allow more military buildings, more walls, and a harder match in general. Most treaty games are short because there is nothing stopping someone from getting to your economic door step 2 minutes before game time, they have 3 walls to break through, and you don't have room for more than 2 of each military building.

I would definitely stop short of 50% of the map to each team, I would say a more reasonable number (like 30-35%) that way there is still room for battle in the middle without being wall to wall from 40 minutes.

The blunder that the portugal player made was he did not build wall. He insisted hitting age 3 to only get access to dragoon, while he should have realized, that germany uhlan doesn't have to be countered by dragoon. Pikemen is enough. I would stay in age two, keep spawning two villagers using 2TC, build wall and train pikemen if I played as Portugal vs Germany player, to keep booming while trying to defend the raid. That's how Portugal players should do. If he wants dragoon so badly, portugal actually can do in age 2 so by sending early dragoon card.

@@AussieDrongo Yeah, that would be great! I think the entire dynamic changes a lot with just 5 Musks or 8 Pikes etc. If you don't defend vs Uhlans at all it's obvious that it's going to cost you too much (even though camping that coin crate is particularly ingenious)

Thank you for the kind words. Market start is viable on non TP maps definitely, but where there is a TP, it's always best to take it. Hotkeys for raiding cav are 1, 2, and 3. 4 for stable and 5 for town centre, then once the raiding phase has finished, uhlan because control group 3, skirms group 1 and war wagons group 2.

Logistician is best for extended age 2 fighting, and seeing as we are aiming to hit fortress around the 8minute mark, it makes sense to utilize the wood from the quartermaster instead.

Here is a little list of downsides that may help you think of a counter. Though note, "countering nations" aren't exactly as simple as the question you put is, all nations can counter every other nation, take it sort of like rock, paper, scissors with units. Instead of trying to find a "counter for a nation", rather, look at Germany's downsides, and think of what the nation you play pros are and think of what you can do. Here is a list of German drawbacks. 1. Germany does not have musketeers. 2. Germany does not have Halberdiers. 2. Germany's replacement for dragoons are very expensive and are slow. 3. Germany's replacement for hussars are terrible, in the sense that they only have +7 attack, yet the trade-off is losing 30 less than half your health. Use pikemen, they will kill Uhlans very, very fast. 4. Germany gets shipments 14% slower than every other nation. That's to name a couple of them.

@@eeuwke0 your welcome, I myself am a player who not mains Germany, but that is really the only nation I play, I know Germany is powerful, but its weaknesses are also great. German players will attempt to prevent other players from exploiting these weaknesses by trying to make you panic. That is the German's greatest advantage, a German player will always try to make you panic. If you stay level headed and take a moment to think, it should be better for you. I can assure you, Germany is very much beatable, and in this video, I've already thought of several ways to counter it. But everyone claims they can, right? Here is the simple reason why this "easy to counter tactic" is so effective, its because it makes the enemy panic. And as a Germany purist player, I can say, if I make you panic for long enough, I've won the game.

@@heavydutydavid5020 why do you need a halberdier when you got doppelsoldner that have way better stat and look, also move faster. With that +7 damage uhlan still doing better to harass and raid villagers. War wagon maybe slower but they can help to take any cannon. Musketeer would just be average unit for the German and obselete when you get needler gunner. I find them to be useful againts cavalery but again you have doppelsoldner. The only problem with doppelsoldner is that they're quite expensive and you can only either get them or spend the resourses for war wagon. But when the France spamming their curraisieurs, you gonna need them more than ever.

Raiding settlers are the only thing Uhlans are really better for anyhow, I'm saying the trade off of almost half the health for +7 damage is not good. Imaging if Germany instead got free Hussars? Hussars are simply better than Uhlans overall. I wasn't saying Germany is bad in any sense, all I was saying was that Germany has downsides which you could use to your advantage. Also, skirmishers do not make muskeeters obsolete. They have different uses. Also, War Wagons are really expensive, and so are doppolsonders. I don't actually get what you are aguring about, I was just stating some downsides Germany has that he could use to his advantage.

Germans are going to get a nerf this is too strong. In Wars of liberty Uhlans have a negative multiplier on vills I feel that they should have that in this game too.

Uhlans have only +7 attack over Hussars, yet only 30 more health than half of the hussar's health, it's a massive trade-off that is not worth it. The only reason Uhlans are any good is that you get them for free, if you didn't get them for free, Uhlans would be Germany's biggest downside. This is also one stratergy which only worked because Portugal had no age two defenses. If he had some pikemen, just a single batch of pikemen, this strategy is far less effective.
