Yeah, you're right! Desanto was a high school champ! Exactly the same as a division 1 NCAA champ! Woohoo!!! Desanto's intensity: Put RBY in a headlock three times and do nothing with it. The Ref warns Desanto about creating a stalemate with the headlock (after the 3rd time). Desanto purposely steps on RBY's hand, then later in the last 5 seconds of the 2nd round he does another quick little headlock.

I just wanna say this (I am in no way a good wrestler) but this was a very technical match. Reachin' for the leg on a tie-up isn't a shot. Picking your shots carefully is not stalling. The step on the hand isn't wrestling and people who say they do all the time are the same ones that lose to top-tier opponents. The takedown at the end was the right call because RBY still had control of him to the point where he couldn't get up. The last thing is RBY is a monster from the open but, ties up with ADS to keep the center because Austin will push forward in a good stance to look for the stalling call. This is a beautiful match by two top-tier wrestlers.

DeSantos the people's champion. Went from a kid who had terrible sportsmanship and disgusting behavior to a man who can take care of business on the mat while remaining respectful off it. Let's be honest, if this was desanto from a few years back he would be yelling at the ref and trying to break rbys arms or legs. But now he's mature enough to stand up and shake his opponents hand and acknowledge that even though he came up short, he went down fighting till the end

He's never even made it to the finals. You just said He's better than all the 2nd place wrestlers, when the highest he placed was 3rd. Do you understand what "best", or "second best" means? You could accurately say that he was the "third best" wrestler in his weight, this year, to not win a title... just like all other wrestlers who placed 3rd in their perspective weight classes. Up one weight class - Bryce Meredith was WAAAAYYYYYY better than Desanto, and never won a title. I would definitely categorize him as "one of the best to not win a title". Daniel Dennis of Iowa - 133 lb. 2010 2nd place NCAA finals - WAAAAAYYYY better than Desanto ... lots of examples of who was better than Desanto.

@@christopherroth7239 well after the call was made Desanto stopped fighting it - definitely giving up the 2 after that. If no points had been awarded he would have continued fighting it.
