Agreed. I learned to play both "BBC" and "Daddy Wasn't There" on the guitar. I was amazed that the chord structure was at its base very simple, presumably to add to the 60s vibe. But the tune and lyrics are good, and the arrangement are brilliant. The songs were written by Susanna Hoffs (a.k.a. Ming Tea lead guitarist Gilian Shagwell) and Matthew Sweet (a.k.a. Ming Tea bassist Sid Belvedere), both excellent musicians and songwriters. I don't think those two are capable of writing a dud.

My parents are divorced now and I wanted to see if I could make my self cry by listening to those songs, I didn't shed a tear until I listened to this one.
