Damn US-Version! 😩😭 I was hoping, you would put a certain scene in the reaction, but I actually don't think it was even in the version you watched at all. It's a shame. I almost thought, maybe I fell victim to some Mandela effect, but I JUST researched it online! The International version of the movie has some extra scenes, two of which I find not only some of the most hilarious in all of Austin Powers, I would go so far to say that it's some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen in the comedy genre. I don't wanna give too much away, you should really look it up for yourselves, just so you know: Those two goons, Doctor Evil's henchmen, the one who gets steamrolled and the one who loses his head (😅🤭)... they literally show how their FAMILIES and FRIENDS react, getting the message that they died. And it's like super serious, you're supposed to feel bad for the family and the kid and the friends. They show those scenes right after their respective deaths, but I found that SO hilarious (because it's tone deaf on purpose 😅🤭), I literally cried tears of laughter! Please look it up!

the guy playing piano on the bus is indeed a real person and a very very accomplished musician. his name is in fact the same as austin said. hes won 6 grammies and was nominated for one about 20 times. nominated for a tony, won a prime time emmy, won two golden globes, won 3 academy awards. he died last year and is regarded as a pioneer and a super important figure in the industry. basically that guy is indeed a real person and hes a legit legend. some other awards- songwriters hall of fame, grammy lifetime achievement award, naras heroes award. something to show how much of a legend he was, when he died he was 94. he was still writing music in his 90's

Mindy Sterling (the woman always screaming) is actually the sweetest lady I've ever met. I met her at a comic con. She voiced one of my favorite characters from Legend of Korra. I paid for an autograph of my Pop, but she let me have a photo too. We didn't make you watch everything to get ALL of the references. The black spy suit worn by Vanessa was a reference to a spy TV series, "The Avengers." Diana Rigg, the actress who married Bond in "Her Majesty's Secret Service" played in the Avengers and wore the suit. 60s movies and TV shows were prone to have musical / dance scenes, which is why the opener was like that. The musical interludes with the fast camera cuts were used in 60s TV shows like "The Monkees" and "Laugh-In," with the musicians being a reference to the Monkees and the blonde dancer in a bikini being a reference to Goldie Hawn, from "Laugh-In." Robert Wagner (Number Two) played lead in a 60s spy-type TV show "It Takes a Thief."

I believe her ex-husband cracked the ham sandwich joke at her expense, and then others repeated it, some of whom claimed to be her friends. Her life was an all-around tragedy simply because she was overweight but too talented to ignore.

Austin Powers is less a parody & more a homage to Bond. Despite being born in Canada, Myers parents were from Liverpool, England. Myers said that the movie and the character were inspired by the British films, music and comedy of the 1960s and 70s his father had introduced him to as a child. “After my dad died in 1991, I was taking stock of his influence on me as a person and his influence on me with comedy in general. So Austin Powers was a tribute to my father, who [introduced me to] James Bond, Peter Sellers, the Beatles, The Goodies, Peter Cook and Dudley Moore." Myers also said hearing the Burt Bacharach song "The Look of Love" on the radio led to him reminiscing about the 1960s, which helped inspire the movie.

He passed away in February of 2023. Mama Cass was the heavier set singer from "The Mamas and The Papas". Another group from the 60's. You probably hear of the song "California Dreaming". Liberace was a famous pianoplayer and singer. He was also gay. He was the predecessor to Elton John. Look him up on KZbin. The sneakers were the Air Pump Michael Jordans from Nike.
