The testing and comedy was gold, give the haters nothing, no hot coffee and toast or steak and chips. Electricity and electronics is my weakness so I watch and read a lot to understand what I need for a solar set up. I’ve gone from the idea of a basic agm solar set up with a gas cooktop to lithium and 3000w inverter with toasty maker, kettle induction even a 240v chainsaw instead a battery type, as it will only get used occasionally out bush and about third the price. Next video should be a full noise testing, comedy and cooking show. Cheers

Another great vid mate - in fairness to the kings boys, they crank out A LOT of units for a comparably low price and some of the install stories that I hear are from people that have absolutely NFI, cabling way too small, no fuses, poor mounting and locations … all I’m saying is they do get the part of the market that are more likely to do a dodge job.

Awesome. If only I waited a couple of weeks I could have gotten the 3000W inverter when I bought my 1500w. Something to add regarding the cables. In found that the ones which came with my inverter were only 4GA. Insert a lot of engineering jargon and I recommend upgrading to 2GA. Similarly 2GA is only rated to roughly 150A. The 3000W inverter will draw 250A at max load and insert engineering jargon I recommend ditching the included cables and get some 0GA cable especially if you're running the cables longer than 1m.
@frednurks85283 жыл бұрын
Agree with you completely. Cables supplied with inverters are always undersized. People need to realize that efficiency of the conversion to AC needs to be taken into account. The DC current draw for 3000 watts of AC will be more like 300 amps. A rough rule of thumb in determining cable size is to use 10 volts instead of 12 volts in your power calculation to work out how many DC amps will be needed to produce the rated AC power.

You reckon the 120 amp lithium will be enoght for this

Just got this inverter and having issues powering my 1800w mitre saw with it, any suggestions why? Its a Bosch PCM 1800 SD

Great video! I’m a noob at this so could I get some clarification please? If you are drawing ~250 amps before the battery BMS cuts out, what is that in watts draw? Is it 250amps @ 12V = 3000 watts? In that case the inverter was pumping out its max output and still functioning ok? Am I right? Thanks.

Hey mate great video I’ve just started thinking about inverters. Can you share what battery your using please. Cheers Adam

I mention in the video a few times. It’s the DCS 200 lithium.

Gday Iron Chef! I just bought one of these yesterday for my work trailer I'm keen as! Just wanted to ask you are these safe to wire directly to the battery with the cables they come with? No need to run a circuit breaker or maxi fuse? Just want my first crack at DIY 12v install to be safe as possible cheers!

Hey mate. I’ve since added a 300amp maxi fuse to make it all a little safer.
What is the battery set-up?? How many batteries and what ahs??

I have a question about inverters and batteries. I’m renovating my caravan with 240v wires throughout. I only plan to run a fridge, convection oven, lights and a tv and dvd player. The fridge will be the only one running non stop (while travelling around). The fridge is 240v 50Hz 0.73A 106W. How do I work out what size inverter and battery do I need?
@evil172 күн бұрын
For a caravan install I would go for a 3000W PSW Inverter, an oven is going to use 1500W-2000W, microwave is 1200W-2000W, toaster 1200W, jug 1000w-2000w, air fryer 1300W, induction cooktop 1000W-2000W, it can add up quickly and for inductive loads (fridge motor) you can use 3-5 times running watts for initial startup current.

Hey Mate love you video, Just a quick question, when hooking up you inverter, what battery have you connected it to a AGM or a lead acid battery and how many batteries do you have?

Great test video. What size inverter do you think I would need just to charge power tool batteries. I already have a 100ah Lithium second battery. Cheers Steve.

Depends on battery charger my makita single charge works off 150w inverter in car

Thanks buddy very informative. I run DCS as well, 75ah under the bonnet of my Amarok, runs my Engel, lights and 600w inverter and 100ah in my cub camper runs my other Engel 1500w kings inverter and lights. To get over the BMS limitations you can run another similar sized battery in parallel. I'm thinking of putting the 3000w kings inverter in my cub and adding another 100ah DCS in parallel. Theoretical max discharge current should be at least 400amps.

Don't forget to run bloody thick cables for 400Amp. I ran 300mm square weld flex to my 3000W inverter, slight overkill but no voltage drop.

dont mix battery sizes
@evil17 Жыл бұрын
@@damienfrizzell9394It doesn’t matter with Lifepo4 chemistry, u can mix 2A cells with 200A cells in the right configurations, IR & cabling, etc, they will charge & discharge proportionally. This has been shown & proven on Andy’s Off Grid Garage. I’m sure many will disagree, but check out his experiments from a year ago with irregular size, capacity cells, & as he has more recently called it, the latest ‘Frankenstein Battery’, which have all passed capacity & high output current tests with flying colours.

Awesome vid mate, very informative and entertaining, using the kings gear myself without any issues. Just bought thier MT1 trailer with 2 lithium batts and 3000W inverter. We run literally of it. Mate try cooking yr bacon in the air fryer. Super krispy 😀

Bit late to this, but how many batteries are running that 3000w inverter or what ah are they
