One of my guitar heroes when I picked up a guitar in 1978 and decided on Gibson Les Paul due to that heavy sound they had. Cool dude...looks like an old Dutch sea captain now, and he still play great live.

What makes Scott Gorham "underrated"? Please elaborate.

@@FrozenHero2010 I'm not saying he does, I agree with you that he was the sound of Thin Lizzy but from my experience everybody talks about Moore or Robertson when referring to Lizzy guitarists (who are obviously outstanding) but I just think he could get more props, that's all.

@@stuff_n_tings6885 What doesn't get mentioned is that Scott Gorham kept the band afloat whenever there was a vacancy "stage right". That's not _underrated,_ that's _understated._

My Belief is there is a reason why we do what we do and why we meet certain people and obviously you were meant to meet Phil and that is awesome because you guys changed the Musical direction back then and didnt sell out to disco and I loved the band for that ,back in those days we all were scared that the Music as we knew it had almost met its end almost like now , im sure there are some young guys that will bring it all back ,I grew up in the best years imaginable ,God Bless you Scott your a little older but keep the music alive as long as you can because Phil is looking down with a huge grin !!!1 RIP Phil we all miss you so much brother

Scott is a cousin of mine, but wouldn’t remember me. We are related in the Gorham side. He’s seven years older than I am, and by the time my sis and I spent some time with his brother, Scott was already really into his music. I remember the family as being really sweet. (Cindy Painter)

Scott has always been one of my guitar “heroes”, as is Brian Robertson. I’ve been a fan of the band since I first heard The Boys Are Back In Town back in the 70’s. I remember buying Live And Dangerous when it came out in 78. I just got the 8 cd reissue of it the other day and it’s utterly amazing! All the best and have a great holiday season! Cheers!

I think he did best guitar work from 1974 to 1983 after that it has lost the swagger and feel / starting doing that vibearm and got lost in horrible solos / Wish he could get back and listen to what he did inthe 70tees with Thin Lizzy it was very good the solos fits the songs perfect😎

I still watch footage of the Sydney Concert and often listen to Live and Dangerous and it always makes me wonder what could have been if Phil had managed to get healthy again. No, not at all. You're dealing here with someone who's pretty comfortable in their own skin and is probably more than aware that white and grey are just two colours; nothing more. And it also works for women: look at Emmylou Harris and Judy Collins. Of course in all three cases being exceptionally good looking in the first place does help somewhat.
