Autel customer service is awesome! They have responded very fast the few time that I have used them...Best of luck flying that 6k, I get to fly all this weekend as the weather is suppose to be favorable!!

Yes I hope they keep that up. Sat morning I’m going to give it a go. Tried taking video and stills today just to make sure it was working. But I’ll be happy when it lands. LOL.

Yes I would agree so far. I did try and ask them if there was a way to stop the evo 2 from going to altitude automatically if you loose communication BUt still have not heard from them. Not a good thing if you are indoors.

I’m nervous about registering my drones. I feel like I’m signing up for the FAA’s hit list once remote ID tyranny takes effect.
@RustyNelsonPhotography4 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you're a pilot or not but after being a pilot in the Air Force and flying high-speed low level (200 ft) I would not like to hit a drone because I did not know it's out there or the drone pilot had no idea what they were doing. There has to be a way as the amounts of drones hit the sky to control the airspace... it's that simple. If people (you and I) just decide to not comply with the rules as they progress then it will be harder for all the hobbyists down the road. They will just come down on ALL pilots even harder. I know some people in the FAA and the last thing they are concerned about is taking your drone. They could care less. What they do want it's to make sure the skies are safe and controlled. Look at the Laanc system. WOW was that put together fast and is wonderful! On a different note, I just made my first flight....way too much fun. All the best...Rusty

Rusty, thank you for your videos. The Evo @ Pro 6K is my first drone. On your remote, is the cooling fan unusually loud? My fan sounds "off" . I have made a video recording to send to Autel. I am assuming the fan turns on and off depending on the internal temp of the controller? Thanks again. Tom

I agree with you. For some reason it takes a very long time to charge the remote. Extremely long time. Started at 53% and now 1 1/2 hours later it's at 76% 🤔
@RustyNelsonPhotography2 жыл бұрын
I think it just has to do with the type of batteries. Those are really little computers.
@waltrmitty2 жыл бұрын
I believe it may be a little more straight forward, yet head slap than that. There are charging cables and then there are data cables. Be sure you're using a robust charging cable and you should see the charging times shorten by quite a bit. I'm basing this from my experience documenting and testing this head scratcher with a much more demanding, Autel Smart Controller. So go back and take a look at your cable. The fitting is the same but the devil is in the cable construction and wire gauge

Oh yeah, on the camera side, remember that with the phone attached you can take photos while taking video, but they will not be full resolution (Assuming same as EVO 1). Screen record your flights as well. There are a few reasons with the top 2 being.. Find your drone easier if you crash or land suddenly, and you have a means to look back and see what you did while flying. Swipe up to clear clutter off your screen to get a full picture, and swipe down to bring it back. Maybe the EVO 2 has a save the screen footage like some others do, but I have not seen anyone mention it. If the video recording shuts off, you will have your screen recording to look back on if you turned it on.
@RustyNelsonPhotography4 жыл бұрын
Yes I did try and take a pic while video was on. You are correct it is not high res and I think its meant to be more like a reference image. Going to take some stills today as a test. THat will be interesting.

So I’m here on business in PA Pittsburgh area and my Autel Evo 2 Pro decided The controller doesn’t want to connect to the drone anymore I have tried re-syncing the controller to the drone it doesn’t work I have tried changing batteries doesn’t work do you have any solution on what I could do.
@charlespotts19193 жыл бұрын
Autel has a great product but their update process is a bit confusing, other drone makers don't make it so, DJI's process is very simple but Autel's is a bit lacking which would confuse anyone using especially for the first time, I have the Autel Evo 1 which is great but not of course as great as the Evo 2 but the process should still be more intuitive, they need to work on that, Great video by the way...

Hello Rusty, Great video! Thanks for your service to our great country!!! I have a drone group on Facebook and it’s a amazing group with professional and novice drone pilots and we’re all about safety and following FAA regulations. I would like to have you in the group I’m sure you can learn from the group and also we could learn from you. The name of the group is Rhode Island Drone Meet Up I hope to see your request. I don't think this is a good drone, first of all the product has software bugs that should have been adressed while on release, to constantly update the unit second of all you relying that the update will not cause the drone to drop out of the sky because you will be blamed! Profect the software and you dont need to update. Updated mine and locked me out to where I had to give blood to autel just like dji. I will be sending it back.
