I thought of Terry Pratchett, can’t remember what year he died. Then I thought of Hitchhikers Guide, but couldn’t remember the author’s name
@fark6915 күн бұрын
Brutal! I think his name is synonymous with that book and vice versa
@scottleung958719 күн бұрын
I also guessed Douglas Adams, several years after reading Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - for me, it came across as a mix of sci-fi and humor.
@xenopixel887719 күн бұрын
Terry Pratchett is like the Douglas Adams of Fantasy so not a bad first guess

He also wrote for an extremely long lived sci fi tv program that can be quite amusing.
@TwilighMidna19 күн бұрын
That would be Doctor who right?
@chrisandersen563519 күн бұрын
@ Yup. Funny twist. He was responsible for a great episode of the fourth Doctor called City of Death with a brief cameo by one of the Pythons: one John Cleese.

I thought of two choices immediately, but picked the wrong one. I guess it's the difference between using a feather and using a chicken. (Shameless Pratchett reference!)

I think there is a specific age range where people were most exposed to Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, probably around when the movie came out. For younger contestants, they might not know of it and by extension the author. I think many people know the work and the author but have only seen the movie

1. Do I even need to bother asking why Ashley didn’t wager $10,101 to cover Ram’s score if he was correct? 2. Aside from Canada, I cannot recall the last time when they had a Jeopardy contestant that’s from another Country (which is London, England).

@ericbundy174719 күн бұрын
@@onnapnewo It wasn’t intended to be rude. It’s hard to get intention from just text. I was just confused as they chose authors who aren’t immediately comedic. And definitely not Monty Python. Every author adds comedy to their writing. I wasn’t calling them dumb or being mean. They ignored the key clue of the question the aforementioned Monty Python of sci fi and went with two incredibly well known sci fi authors. If you thought I was rude that wasn’t my intention and I apologize, I was asking a legitimate question.
