Sometimes I focus too much on defending against my opponents, trying to figure out their attack patterns that I forget to actually go on the offense as well lol
@HYLOBRO2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I do that as well. I try to analyze why they are throwing out the moves, thinking they might be plus on block or attempting to frametrap me, but then after realize they were just mashing strings. It is hard to deal with when there are just soooo many options for each character to do. I've been playing Fak the past couple days and his strings are just wayyy too ambiguous. They're learnable, but if you haven't learned them he WILL force you to. Dragunov is a similar case, where if you mash in the middle of a string expect a counter hit launcher.

I almost got demoted but trying to turtle a Negan. As soon as I started using magic 4, keepout jabs, 1,2,3, df4 and (god forbid) Law's d2,3 I won 5 matches in a row. Respecting your opponent too much is not always the best approach. If they stop fearing retaliation and start mixing things up you're fighting a losing battle.

@@Goteiii Yeah Negan also has a lot of oppressive strings if you block because a lot of them leave him + on block. They are linear to balance it out but online more players don't utilize sidestep very much, at least at the ranks I am at.

@@HYLOBRO I stepped successfully many times but there were many lag spikes that rendered my steps null so I had to disrespect his frames

@@Goteiii yeah that happens online a lot, I swear it’s impossible to sidestep EWGF even tho it’s supposedly a weakness of it lol But yeah good job, my first day playing Negan after I bought him was fun, but he’s almost a little too brain dead for my taste. Not a lot of thinking, and mashing 2 actually seems to be a scrub killer. Of course he can be played smarter but my first day with him was a lot of easy wins

This is great advice. I try this online but I'm still hardstuck in greens and yellows because I feel like in Tekken (especially these days with characters like Fahk) it is actually quite risky sometimes to try and backdash or sidestep all of your opponent's offense. I often end up being clipped by fast mids with crazy range in my crouch frames trying to KBD, or eat moves that magically happen to track to the side I chose to step. I'm getting better at reacting to opponent's cheese slowly over time though
@ttacoguyy2 жыл бұрын
sometimes you want to just do a single backdash and not kbd so you can block and to avoid the risk of getting hit when crouching during kbd. especially if your kbd is not that great

Yeah I picked up DLC yesterday with the steam sale, and my first 5 games with Fahk I steamrolled people. I had only tried him out for 15 min in training mode and learned one combo, but still overpowered everyone I fought. He is a little too easy for how strong he is, and his range is wayyy too strong for how oppressive and rushdown he can transition into being. That is why he feels overtuned, because he's not a specialist, he can transition from poking to rushdown without any of the downsides of being an "all-rounder".

People in those ranks genuinely have no idea what they are doing. The key to winning below red rank is to perceive whatever flowchart your opponent is doing and dismantle it. Hell, I meet people in purple and blue ranks that still have no idea about frames and try to keep their turn at all costs

I always notice the higher ranked players play more defensively (unless it’s an Anna, Feng, Hwoarang, or mishima IMO who are constantly in my face) then there’s Zafina, lili, and ling who just dodge everything 😭

Appreciate the "BlazBlue Central Fiction" representation for your talking points in this video, even if there's a chance you didn't enjoy it. Interestingly enough, I saw Izayoi and Amane shown here, those weren't bad picks, since both are extremely technical characters that can take a while to wrap your head around, but once you do you are rewarded with some of the strongest characters in the game. With Izayoi in particular being arguably top 4 in the game ( with the top four being Izanami, Nine, Carl, and Izayoi, though there is a debate on the actual order). Now with that being said, that's not to say that BBCF isn't balanced, because it TOTALLY IS, with many tier lists made by high level players having over 80% of the cast as tournament viable which is extremely impressive when you realize how VASTLY different each character's toolkit is, which they are over 35 of. Still praying for rollback, as this is the only thing holding this gem from being truly great in my eyes.

So how happy were you when you not only heard about Central Fiction getting rollback and also becoming the most popular 2D fighting game for a couple months because of it?

Tekken has also ruined other fighting games for me:( I love it but yeah trying to play DBFZ and GGStrive is harder to get into transitioning from Tekken. I am still going to give it my best shot because I want to diversify, but Tekken truly is one of a kind. Every other 3d fighter I've played pales in comparison.
