People talk about the price. I just bought one new for £27.800 on 0% APR finance. Marshall Honda is doing £11.100 deposit contribution. CRAZY DEAL!! This is cheaper than a Corsa E or Peugeot e206 !!!! Chicken Dinner baby !!

You can get nearly £10k off from any dealer which makes it more appealing. We take delivery of an Advance model in March, it will be our first ever Honda as we normally stay with the German manufacturers but I am sure it will not disappoint. I am more concerned about charging from outside of our home, the infrastructure is rubbish here in the UK and desperately needs to catch up with other countries. The charge rates are extortionate when compared to petrol or diesel but then we do live in a rip off Britain. Good review by the way, nice to hear someone finding positives rather than being negative when basing everything on the high price.

Thank you for your comment Peter. Yes, Honda are doing some amazing deals to entice new customers to the eNy1. I hope it does create a boost in sales. Like KGM who too £9000 of the price of a Koran E-Motion. With regards to charging, it is much better than what it was before in terms of locations, but prices are quite high. Try and find the hidden gems, chargers that are off the main roads. They can off a strong charge for a good rate. You are most welcome. I did enjoy my time in the eNy1 and as a former salesman, I know to highlight those positives of the car and not just moan about the price. Dave

To be honest, the Honda will be my wife's car and 99.9% of her driving is around Boston, on the very odd occasion she may venture out on a shopping trip to either Lincoln or Peterborough. For those longer trips we would probably use my diesel Merc. The Eny1 is simply our step into the world of electric vehicles while not having to rely on it so much, we will all have one eventually so why not get in at the mid way point. Good tip about chargers off the main roads though, one I will keep in mind. I too used to sell cars, Soper BMW and also Toyota in Kings Lynn.....Best job in the world and had many a laugh.

PRICES HAVE NOW DROPPED! There is quite alot more on the advance. I had the advance for a day and absolutely loved it. I love the fact there's less room for kids to leave rubbish in the doors, especially with my first grandchild on the way😂 It feels familiar to the Civic (Gen10) which I'm going from. Yes it's safe but definitely not lacking. The infotainment sold me massively too. I love the fact you pointed out about mobility, the reason I'm changing is because of mobility issues and it's the one that's stood out for me physically, the height was ideal and positioning getting in and out of the car ideal which I struggled with on other SUV'S. The drive is great and not far off the Civic. I love the sport mode and I'm country driving and it handles really well. I'm a weird one where I don't like the regen and never use it! I love the Honda sensing and safety features. You can get some really good deals now with Honda and price has dropped as have finance deals and really worth looking at now. The advance has better sound proofing which is in the tyres, I barely heard any road noise and our Cotswolds roads are awful! I order mine tomorrow. The advance with the white interior. I've always been a petrol head and never thought I'd go electric but this car swayed me. Roll on September! Thanks for the review!

Wheels shouldn't get too dirty, brake dust won't be the same as an Ice. I'd say Honda don't make aethestically beautiful cars, they make reliable cars. 32k now brand new but not sure if you have to take finance to buy at that price. For 25k you can get a 3 year ipace. Great review. Far more in depth and real world than most.
@cherubygacutan8532 ай бұрын
You will see us with one because they are on a huge discount with a sizeable deposit contribution at 0% APR. I tried getting a Hyundai or a Kia but their finance quote was still less desirable than the Honda. It’s not the best but it’s not bad either now that the price has gone down a lot.

Tesla 3 highland propulsion is much more expensive comparing to Honda e:Ny1 and in real world range, I think is a little lower comparing to Honda e:Ny1. The price of Honda e:Ny1 in many European countries is very-very interesting today.

Great review, like the fact you test drove the Elegance rather than the Advance. Got this on a great deal like others have mentioned, probably the cheapest PCP deal out there on an brand new EV, plus 5 years servicing costs and warranty! Only one thing you missed, Nissan is Japanese and has pretty much been at the forefront of EV's with the Leaf.

I don’t like quirky, which soon translates into annoying. I do wish it didn’t have that big screen, the HRV’s is far smarter, and I really hate the front charging socket, I reverse into my drive so this is a deal killer. And the floor pan may be different from the HRV, inevitably, but the rest of the structure is the same, except it loses the brilliant magic seats to the battery. Modified plastics at the front and rear don’t count towards differentiation. I know that the price will come down and this is a compliance car, but Honda should have given the HondaE a bigger battery and removed some of the quirkiness, and cut the price, and then it would have had a real success on its hands with this car.

Great review of a groundbreaking car for Honda. I don't blame them for being cautious with EVs. Re-tooling for EV is a big gamble. Typically, Japanese manufacturing, and indeed, governments, plan 50 years ahead, not 50 weeks, so their caution is understandable, I guess. Personally, I would loved to have seen styling to be be based on the old smaller Honda E but with a slightly bigger battery / extended range, but I get why they've gone for the SUV market. PS I agree entirely about the alloy wheels likely to be a bugger to keep clean. I've just traded in my beloved Honda for an Ioniq, and the alloys on my Honda used to take 40 minutes alone to wash off and clean properly. The Ioniq has aero covers over black alloys, and it takes seconds LOL Anyway, great job, Dave. Keep up this standard!
@AutoBears7 ай бұрын
Thank you very much for your comment. I agree that the Honda e would've been a great template to use for future EV styling. But I do feel they have played it a little too safe. Considering the US has just had the release of the Prologue which looks a lot more bespoke. If you love cleaning your car then the alloys will provide hours of OCD joy, but yes, to most of us it would just be a bugger! lol Thank you so much. More reviews are on the way plus an upcoming motor show.

I bought one and HATE the 'ping' when you just reach the speed limit. Seems to be no way to turn it off or adjust it according to Honda. Works off the GPS. Talk about "Nanny State". Almost enough to make me want to take it back. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know!!!!

Had one as a courtesy car while my Honda e was in the garage. Its not a good car, i'd go as far as saying its a bad car! The throttle is way too twitchy at the top, how they got this so wrong after the e is bizarre. It handles like a brick - doing a swerve test at only 25 completely unsettles it, god knows what it would be like at anything approaching motorway speeds. The sound system (even on the advance) is nothing to write home about, its tinny and shallow compared to that in the e. My 11 yr old's verdict? "Its so boring! Why hasn't it got all the good bits from our car?!" Front seats are v comfy though! And it pulls well from 40, seems they've dialled it in for motorway driving. ..and they still haven't got wireless android auto working, wtf?
@Emmar23113 ай бұрын
You clearly didn't find it. I have the advance and the wireless android auto definitely works 😊

Most reviews mention the ride quality is poor and above average wheel spin with the setup on this model. Not for the faint hearted but i will give Honda a big bonus point for having charging port on front where it should be..but i just cannot unsee that low hung battery pack and the issues that may bring down the road .Do not see any crazy deals for this at the moment..maybe as the 5 year all in deal finishes in less than a week now.

Tesla 3 highland propulsion, real world range, during the winter, at +/- 70 MPH is a little less than 155 miles. Tesla 3 highland propulsion, actual price in Luxembourg is 43990 + 1000 = 44990 euros. Honda e:Ny1, actual price in Luxembourg is 35-36000 euros. As you can see, there is a difference of 9-10000 euros more expensive the Tesla 3.
