You have to keep these tanks over half full because you will uncover the fuel pump when all the fuel goes to the back of the tank during a 4WD launch

Look into the j-mod for the transmission it might fix that 1 2 shift

A tune for the shift schedule will fix it but the jmod is a huge improvement in shift firmness and will make it live longer at that power.

I have an 03 expedition 5.4 and REALLY love your vids! If you had any tips I'd love to hear them! Don't know exactly what all I can do for mine but I know they make a pro-charger for the 5.4.

Stay 2v, the trick flow 185 head with a set of decent streert able cams on E, 1000hp is easy. The 4v B or C heads are great but cams are a lot more, valve springs are a ton more, and machine work and valves are way more. Plus aftermarket intakes are hard to find and when you do they are an arm and a leg, and the adapters never fit right and leak, believe me I have tried probably every brand made lol. Point is stay simple. Spend that money on a good turbo and a good air to water. The Trick Flow 185s are reliable, and can make well over 1000hp. My 4.6 made 1175 with a set of 185s.

Hey Ryan, Congrats man awesome runs. Unfortunately I put my truck aside for now with the passing of my wife I have other responsibilities. But your 1 2 shift is 5500 and I set mine at 6k with less slip and made it a firmer shift. Doing that makes it harder on the tranny. Also I went to 285 75 17 tires to raise my final gearing and it helped a lot as well.

This build series is really interesting. I’m really interested in what you plan on using for internals, heads, and what not. I currently have a 2000 F150 XLT Ext Cab 5.4L 4x4 that I would loved to do a roots supercharger build with. Built block, forged internals, Ported Heads, cams, etc. it’s awesome to see somebody doing something with this gen truck because nobody really does unless it’s the SVT Lightning.👊🏼🤙🏼

Consider ported npi heads over the pi. No thread blowout, thicker decks, combustion chamber is similar in cc to a 4v which should keep compression boost friendly, you can get over 225cfm on the intake side without removing the swirl dam which cannot be said for a Pi head and with the added clearance with the piston being in the hole on the 5.4 should let you run some pretty aggressive cams. Trickflow's would be your next best bet but for the money, if you can find someone who knows how to work modular heads, a npi may be a good option.

It is tuned. We put in a bunch of torque reduction into the tune on the shift, so it’s pulling power before the shift to help save my stock transmission. It does make the shift sound slow, but the actual shift is pretty firm.

Might be a bit risky with the amount of HP your putting down but !!! Ive found it to be faster when I shift manually into 2nd gear right about 40mph, ...yeah it'll bang the trans a bit but I let off the gas halfway, shift to 2nd, take it to 65 and shift back into drive 😁
