I’m going through a breakup right now.. and it hurts so much but he was not good to me. I am going through a break up after being together for almost 3 years. There are two options for "When does a guy think I'm flirting". 1st - everytime you do anything even remotely nice 2nd - never We are dumb, that's why we don't get many hints, but there is more to it. We may ignore them. Nine out of ten guys had once or more thought there was someone flirting with them and then got rejected hard, get called a creep or get laughed at for thinking this. You wouln't want this to ever happen again, so you are very careful. To me a woman basically has to write a four page letter explaining everything because I would always think it is just a joke or prank.

If I can add something from my point of view, I would say three key things: positive reinforcement, being open about what you'd like, and complimenting him. Positive reinforcement is awesome, works on my fiancé, my dogs and my dad; it's basically like being kind and focus on the positive things they do rather than the negative ones. Say he surprises you with a facetime call, or something else that makes you happy--tell him girl! Thank him for having done that, he'll do it more often. Kid you not. And yeah, sometimes my fiancé completely lacks of initiative and ideas, so I gotta tell him what I'd like, but that's okay! Communication is a great tool. Also, show men some love. Compliment his outifit, his haircut, stuff like that--they might not show it, but they love it too :)

I also wanted to add that when you first start talking to a boy, remind yourself that you guys should have a solid friendship first, before you start dating. You'll see so many couples in high school and college that break up and get back together numerous times, and sometimes it works for them, but a lot of the time it doesn't, because they want to be friends but don't know how to be because they jumped into their relationship too quickly. And this may just work for me and my boyfriend, but after a while of dating we established two things: (1) we valued our friendship over our relationship, simply bc if something were to happen, we still want to be best friends; and (2) we would only say "I love you" when we both truly felt in love, not just when we love each other. Hopefully this helps too!!!
