Nice review. I think seiko has missed an opportunity in regards to their nato strap. The Willard sits so nicely on wrist with the cushion case. The new nato straps makes it look gangly and too high. I think a single pass would have been better.

Cool watch. I think you're the only one who has gotten the white balance correct to show the true color of the orange on this watch. Nearly everyone else I've seen this from shows it off as much more yellow looking, even though they say it's orange. Always confused me as it really looked more yellow than orange. That being said, the orange looks good, but I actually kind of like it when it looked more yellow. Anyways, still a fine limited edition watch. Yeah, I had to get a Capt. Willard in the green color, SBDC111, eventually recently. Love the green tones, and the watch is super comfy. Very glad Seiko downsized this design just enough. I don't think I would want it too much smaller as the watch needs that classic feel over the wrist, too, to keep it's unique character. Yeah, my SBDC105 with 6R35 ran really slow out of box. -25 to-30 s/d. Wasn't having that. So, I eventually opened and regulated myself and it became one of my most accurate watches at no more than +1 s/d. The fact that Seiko can make a non green and blue color lume glow so we'll like the orange they have here (and some of their other models) proves they are one of the great lume masters.

I’ve only ever tried on the Willard once and since then they have come out with so many other variations so I may need to revisit this piece

these are currently $737 and i am kinda tempted but the nato strap sits too high and that black finish is bound to get marked, so i will probably pass - these look much better in stainless steel with a dive strap IMO.
