As you mention how stable the wing is, are the flight characteristics more into EN-B? I know that on paper it's DGAC rated. But you could get more into it to compare the characteristics.

How did you add the gauges to the video? I'm looking for a video editor that will add at least altitude and speed in a single edit pass like the old GoPro software that's been discontinued. Everything I find says export and do it in two phases.

You made a comment that with the Sirocco you can use brakes through entire trim range. That is incorrect as it has a red trim line where brakes cannot be used. As someone who primarily flies a Speedster 3, I definitely have this wing in my radar!
@Khunlaan2 жыл бұрын
This is true for most Sirocco/Speedster sizes. The Sirocco 18 is the exception. It has its own riser/trim combination where there is no red line on the trims.

@@TrevorSteele1 I have the Sirocco 3 20m. If you use the brakes past the red line, she doesn't really like it. I've gently used the brakes past the red line, and the tips tend to go flappy flap. So I stopped that. lol
@TrevorSteele12 жыл бұрын
@@ryandinan Interesting. I've hammered brakes all the way out on the 18m Viper 5 and 18m Sirocco 3 without any issues or weird behavior. Probably best not to lol!

They should have made the winglets on the _lower_ wing surface. First - you could see them, second - it wouldn't be so straightforward taken from Advance, and third - thay could use them as some lines hangpoints to lighten the structure :)

Jake, I own a Sirocco 2 19 and I’m in the market for an upgrade. I love the easy launches of the Sirocco. What is your final impressions of Sirocco 3 18 vs Viper XC 18?

Viper XC launches as easily as the Sirocco for sure. Probably even easier.

Close to upgrading from a Speedster 3 24m to the Viper XC. I am 130kg all up and enjoy the 100% weight loading on the speedster 24m. I am not sure if ill go 20 or 22m for this wing. Any thoughts on launch speeds at the top of the weight range for this wing compared to the Speedster 3?

It launches a bit slower actually. All I know is you’re bound to love it!

Some pilots use them, some don't. Whenever you really need it, you take one. As much as I know about the skydivers' altimeter-watch with red and green sectors - not very useful. A simple smartphone works better.
