Do you ever have a problem where you were using CarPlay, turn off car, come back a few minutes later and the radio app comes on, quite loudly, then CarPlay connects and now radio and CarPlay are playing at the same time? Happens to me a lot and I have to go to home screen and turn off the radio app. Would love to prevent the radio app from ever opening automatically.

Great vid! I have been hearing a constant static/white noise while the volume is up. For example if I pause a song while the volume is up I will hear this static/white noise. I followed yours and Evan Goyuk install everything was fairly strait forward I don't think I screwed anything up. Any tips? I'm hoping it is can be solved in the EQ. Something to note is I have the usb adapter plugged into the unit but I have nothing plugged into it yet, waiting for my car play dongle to arrive. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You may need to attach a wire to the radio and some metal in the car. I don’t have this issue in my E46 but my E90 has it.

Thanks for the excellent video. I’m planning on the Avin for sure. I have a 2004 M3 convertible. I wonder if they have anti glare shields? Snapdragon for sure. I’ll definitely get the IBUS app. My car has PDC. Do I need their tire pressure kit?

I don’t have TPMS on my e46 and idk if they even came with them from the factory. I skipped it and only recommend it if you want the system.

so I have an issue that I accidentally deleted the CarPlay app from the headunit and I’m trying to re install but im having issues. Any advice ?

There are other options cheaper but I prefer this one because it looks OEM and performs much better than the others.

Then you just stuff it in the place where the sunglasses holder was. It’ll stay there but just won’t look as flush

@@cs.studios ok, so it'll be more of an aesthetic than functionality issue? Also, I know this unit comes with a built-in mic, correct? From your experience, if I don't (buy) and install the additional, wired mic, will the built-in mic work for siri commands or any other audio commands? Thanks again for your replies and your help.

Yeah it’s more aesthetic but it does make it more stable. I’ve used the built in mic fine but you’ll have to talk a bit louder than normal

Okay so I’m buying this tomorrow. I’m getting the wireless CarPlay, now If I get that will I still be able to plug my phone in with a cord and connect manually? Like what if I get the wireless and it for some reason doesn’t work anymore would I be able to plug my phone into the dynavin USB ports and connect to car play like that?

Both wire and wireless will work. Once you’ve initially paired the phone there’s almost never connection issues

Great video, I have a 2001 E38 and I want to install Andriod Auto, but I am not sure about the wire or the wireless because both of them you still have to plug your phone into the USB and the dongle, so how is it wireless. Can you explain? I do have an Andriod phone

The wireless option is ONLY for apple carplay. You will still need a wire for android auto.

Bluetooth sounds fine. I prefer to use carplay though. I have not used wifi extensively but from my short experience with it, it worked fine and stay connected to my hotspot

I can't get my Andriod Auto to play I have the white dongle what is the right APK file. iPhone work, but my Andriod phone is not.

You need to go to developer settings on your android phone and enable usb debugging then try again

My next question is, whenever I use Wazse the audio comes out my phone and not my Car speakers how can I get it to come out of my car speakers. If you could text me the APK file you use,I woul like to compare it with mine. Thanks

I never installed any apk files, everything is how it came from factory. For audio look at your phone, go to waze then look in the settings. There was an option to change output alert device

No. Wireless Android Auto is not supported. Only wireless carplay works. Android Auto only works through USB

Do you know where in the settings you can find the buttons color/brightness adjustment?

You can either press the square with an X on it on the top panel or drag down from the top and click brightness. I haven’t seen anything regarding colors

Yes it requires a usb port from the head unit and plugs into the interlock connection
