100 percent helpful! I wondered why I sometimes get stuck and in a position where their arm is almost in a choke position! Thanks coach!

@Travis Stevens...What's the throw where you control the right wrist, grab under the right arm pit, ( not the gi ) put your hips into him, turn you feet 180 degreess and throw ?? My friend w/ a 5th degree black belt taught me how to do it and I throw him 5 feet off to my right the first try...Not being hyperbolic, about 5 feet...It took moderate effort too...He mentioned tall people can throw further and I'm 6'2"...Your showing only throwing slightly and that's all I've ever see on you tube, in front of you...Can you give me the name of the throw and it's considered one of the most impressive judo throws...He was taught by a judoka master from japan and I think it makes him a bit better and he taught me, there is only one form of judo...Thanks :):)

This is very eye opening. I like how you showed how to get the opponents grip off without off-balancing yourself and to bait them in reaching again so you can throw.

Thanks Brian! I see people all to often forcing the grip off by getting out of position or putting to much power into it and not being able to recover.

Thanks for the help. I’m usually catching my opponents tricep and wanted a good way to counter. This is also a great setup trying to stop the counter.

Brilliant man, I would get stuck and be confused wondering what went wrong, you're right we train ourselves into a dead end with our warm up Uchikomi.

This was really helpful. I'm at a point where I'm removing inconsistencies from my seoi nage. This would also help immensely with my kumi kata and grip sequence. Thanks a lot

Just a thought - can you not just drop into tai otoshi, or will a uchi mata from a slight sideways entry work, or even (as you seemed to almost get in position for) - a inner/outer winding drop throw? (I am a trad japanese jiu jitsu guy)
@TravisStevensgrappling
@TravisStevensgrappling 4 жыл бұрын
You can't really do that because of the lack of control with the upper body. You could through beginners with it but not good players.
