Heerlijke natuurlijke interpretatie en uitvoering. Pracht van een orkest, not big band. Akoestiek Concertgebouw mooi meegenomen. Herreweghe ook hier in Beethoven's lyrische Natuursymfonie subliem. Stemvoering, balans in orkest, versmelting stemmen, fraseringskunst, opbouw, ...dit alles is hier magnifiek.

What a surprise to hear this symphony played so well at a tempo and with dynamics that are both fresh and alive, providing a unique interpretation that's special. A rewarding performance, fresh and interesting---quite devoid of the boredom that is often the case in the hands of many conductors.

I don't think this is too fast. I think it is "bouncy"at this tempo, and it fits the piece very well. After all, it is about the outdoors.

I love how the composer/director made the piece seem not as busy as it actual is by the user of dynamics. (Crescendo, decrescendo, Forte[etc], Piano[etc], and etc.

Alleen al 11.20 > Inzet 'Scène aan de beek'. Zo fraai, zo rond van klank; exact het juiste tempo en de juiste sfeer. Herreweghe, de oude muziek specialist. Of hier een koor een stuk uit de Elisabethaanse periode (Engeland), bijv. van William Byrd, inzet.

The Concertgebouw's acoustics - splendid. Interesting wardrobe choices amongst the performers: perhaps a radio orchestra can adopt, better than most, a relaxed, elegant look...or are they just modern Dutch enjoying their relative individualism? Probably both.
