I have very jaded ideas about JBJ, having observed his work for 40 years. He's smart, and he's sincere most of the time. I just don't dig his songs, but that's obviously just my subjective taste. That said, his songwriting tip is a good one. What he should've added was that you can change the lyrics later. The idea is to use whatever words come to develop the melody and arrangement. Later you can go back and change the lyrics to something that inspired you. Hope his voice has recovered, it wasn't in good shape on the last tour from what I saw.
