Hey Dillon and Matt... AZUB Ty-Fly is an amazing trike.. It sits really really low so you have little wind resistance. Add the Pinion and it is unbeatable.. Mine has the Rohloff speed hub because i put a mid-drive kit on it.. Never tried the Pinion, but love the Rohloff wheel you built..

Hello Matt.... I'm loving the 26" custom wheel UtahTrikes built for me with the Rohloff. My Azub is working beautifully with my mid-drive system. UtahTrikes is a great company to work with. Thanks so much..! Robb PDX USA

What's the cost of the Rohloff/wheel? Also, does the mid-drive need a shift sensor to cut power to the motor while shifting the Rohloff? How well does that work? I hear it doesn't work so well with cassette style gears, causing gear jumps if/when the motor restarts too soon.

i like your video, but i like the way the dumont trike folds down, because you do not have to remove the seat it folds down with the trike. again great video will keep watching.

Paula, the Dumont fold process is easier, but the Ti-Fly will fold down much smaller, so depending on your transport needs, each model has its own advantages. Thanks for watching!

Somebody needs to combine this (Pinion 18-speed gearbox) with Rohloff Speedhub...

My thoughts exactly! Seeing that combo on a Catrike Dumount would be even better!!

Supreme Flagship test ride such trike. It’s not a good idea. My experience with Rohloff alone was better and I believe it would be similar with pinion drive alone. It is definitely not a replacement to upgrading with motor. IMHO either pinion or Rohloff plus belt drive plus motor is a way to go if you are looking for power, less maintenance and ease of use.

Lets figure this out price per miles or PPM . Lets say this has a cost of 7,000 in 7 years that is a 1000 bucks per year . This trike may have a life span of 10 years with out replacing parts other than tires and tune ups . That would come out to 10,000 or 700 per year for 10 years . In 20 years this cost you 350 bucks a year just for the bike so lets say you have it for 40 years 175 bucks a year and that sounds about right what a good trike or bike should cost per year .

Your calculations make no sense. What does miles have to do with years? What you mean is price per year, and that makes no sense since many of these are purchased then not used much. And not many people keep something around for 40 years. These things are expensive. But if you can afford it, and it's good for you, go for it. You can get a bike from walmart that can be replaced every year for less money, but it will not be a good deal. You can buy this, leave it in the garage to gather dust and it won't be a good buy. In fact, only the person buying this can know if it was a good buy or not. And of course you didn't even calculate the cost of interest, or maintenance on this.

@@RobFomenko : Miles is one thing and years is another . If a person that buys a bike or trike that cost 7000 or more then that bike or trike would not set to be looked at but used every chance the rider gets to . I am just saying how much does this bike cost per year to own . Then after so long the bike would be out of date from better bike that would come ahead .

@@jeffmullinix7916 yes. But your post was about miles and then you only talked about years.
