Dr. James Warwick advised Brooke that there is a Forrester secret but Brooke knew Bridget was Eric’s daughter from day one she was born, and Ridge advised Eric that Bridget looks like him. Eric is a love sick puppy for Brooke, and he was so hurt he immediately married the next young girl that came along!

@@Celeste-WWE Well, after Eric did the math saying that the baby was born exactly 9 months after that night, Sheila overheard Brooke telling Ridge that it seems very likely that Eric was the father. Sheila was afraid that if Eric turned out to be the father then he would go running back to Brooke. Sheila didn't want to lose Eric so she snuck into the lab where the blood samples were. She was going to switch the labels on the test tubes. But when she had both labels off, Mike the security guard showed up and saw her. There was some talk and then Mike gave the tube holder a good spin and it spun around many times and when it stopped, Sheila had no way of knowing which sample was which. Sheila was upset because it seemed Mike had ruined everything. Sheila forced to just guess which was which and hope for the best. But while Sheila was in the lab, she was unaware that Brooke and Ridge were talking to Dr. Peters about Eric's theory. Brooke and Eric slept together on April 1st and the baby was born at the end of December, which was exactly 9 months apart. Dr. Peters however reminded Brooke that the full term of pregnancy isn't 9 months, it's actually 40 weeks, 9 months is just the ballpark figure. Brooke realized that it's possible that she could've conceived anywhere from March 23rd to April 1st....IF she had Ridge had been intimate during that time period but they couldn't remember if they had been. But if they had, then there was still a 50/50 chance that Ridge could be the father. This was brought to Eric's attention and I think Sheila's. Dr. Peters told them that really the only thing to do would be to wait for the test to be done. The test results revealed Ridge as the father but for a few years Sheila and Mike were the only ones who knew that the test might be wrong. Was it really Ridge's blood sample that matched or was it Eric's blood sample with Ridge's label on it?

They tried to get in touch with Dr. Peters to find out if the letter was authentic but they found out that she was dead, she had been killed in a mugging. Perhaps Sheila or Mike had something to do with it. They wanted to have the letter analyzed to see if it was really Dr. Peters' handwriting but the letter had disappeared. Eric demanded another test. Brooke wouldn't do it, probably afraid of opening Pandora's box. So Stephanie told Brooke that if they retested Bridget's paternity and the results revealed Ridge as the father then she promised to welcome Brooke into the family. Brooke couldn't refuse that offer. So they retested Bridget's paternity and the results conclusively revealed that Eric was undoubtedly Bridget's father. Brooke and Ridge were devastated. Seeing the image of his little girl shattered, Ridge just couldn't be with Brooke and Brooke ended up having a nervous breakdown.

But See Old Stephanie's evil behind could have been behind that. After the first paternity test was done there shouldn't have been any more tests done. That's why I still think Bridget is Ridge's kid because too many shaninigans were going on with this Paterinity test mess. Too many loose ends and NO ANSWERS AT ALL. Also, I still believe Kelly is Bill's daughter as well. None of what the show did made any sense.

@@adithalee8660 I don't think Stephanie would as far as to break her own son's heart to get rid of Brooke. She loved Ridge. I'm sure Eric is Bridget's father. However, I do share your opinion on Kelly possibly being Bill's daughter because the paternity test was done pretty quickly. Since Liam and Bill are father and son, it would take a few weeks to determine who Kelly's father is because the 3 of them have so many of the same paternal markers and it would take a while to narrow them down. The only way to do it as quickly as it was done was to have someone who only shared the same DNA as one of the 2 possible fathers but not both. The only candidate would have to be Liam's mother and she's dead. The only other way it could be done would be done quickly would be if Liam isn't really Bill's son. If that were true, that would mean Thorne is Liam's father. He and Thorne did look alike and they both have blonde hair but of course, Liam's mother was blonde. But that would make Steffy and Liam cousins.

@@alexanderpytko5394 On this show the science of DNA is null and void. Eric and Ridge's DNA markers were so close they had to use Stephanie's to determine Bridget's paternity. Fast forward many years later Eric is not Ridge's biological father. Science, medicine, story continuity and testosterone are not required for this show.

The letter was written by Shelia knowingly approved by Brooke's hand because she was obsessed with having ridge. To herself and that was kept underhanded to break up ridge and Taylor's marriage so which means that both Shelia and brooke were both in it together. And how do I know this because it's episodes are here some where.

If Eric wasn't Ridge's father there would be no need to get Stephanie's blood and it would have came out that Eric wasn't Ridge's father. I know that this is fiction, but you can't mess with DNA.

Well, the audience knew from 1993 to 1996, that Ridge might not be Bridget’s father. Sheila and Mike didn’t know who the father really was but knew there was a possibility that the test was wrong. I think the show dragged it for a few years to see Ridge get really attached to Bridget and for him and Brooke to have the perfect life they always wanted so that there would be tremendous heartbreak 💔 for them when the truth about Bridget’s paternity came out.
