Great job!!! You should put the speaker in a box to mimic door place.

Hey Mike, i have the mark levinson audio in my 2016 lexus RC-F. i want to upgrade the front 3.5 dash speakers. Any recommendations on which brand and model # will work better while still using the stock mark levinson amp ? Thank you

Can you test Steven audio speakers? There’s 0 reviews anywhere and he told me I won’t be disappointed but I don’t want to spend $160 for a pair and not like them

I appreciate your time but without some on and off axis response sweeps, this was fairly pointless. These speakers are fairly cheap and low quality. The use of electrolytic capacitors is the main tell. Switching to a polycap would make a world of difference. Second, the woofer is being allowed to roll off naturally and that's a bad thing as frequencies get higher. It's going to have a ton of break up past 1k Hz or so and contribute to a lot of shrill midrange when pushed hard. You'll have to cut the midrange to quell that sound but it's going to create a hole in response. The 9.1uf capacitor on the back means thats an 8ohm tweeter that's crossed over at ~2100hz or so. That's probably ok but you won't know without measurements. Something I find REALLY cheap that they did was to use copper clad wire for the voicecoil. That's a REALLY cheap move on their part. It's a cheap and lazy way to make a driver a little more resistant to excessive power input instead of just engineering a driver with better heat dissipation properties. The downsize is that you increase resistance and power requirements with no upside. All in all, this is just another "me too" speaker in a giant pile of coax speakers. It's not bad, but there's nothing good about it either.

@@OxBlitzkriegxO they are budget coaxial speakers. I really didn’t expect much from them, they almost remind of Rockford Fosgate P1650 6.5s. Personally i would choose these over the Rockford because they are on sale making them cheaper 🤣. They do look cheaply made and that cca coil kinda sucks.

@@cin5cin1nat3i interestingly, coax speakers tend to perform very well in response tests due to their design. theyre some of the easiest speaker to get to sound good. CCA is sometimes used to accomplish a certain sound profile because copper is heavier. i contend that its done to meet a price point because a better engineered speaker can do the same thing without compromises.

@@OxBlitzkriegxO well im doing a 12 dc level 6 18s i was looking for some nice coaxial door speakers to put in the doors budget i really don’t have one but i did run pass these and wanted to try them out. I also got some pretty good deals on the ground zero 6.5 and 8inch coaxial.
