I recently demo'd this racquet and I loved the feel. The flat serve off this thing is bananas. Great for 1HBH and amazing feel for a one hander. The open string pattern really was nice for my forehand as well. I do like a heavier racquet as I have a slower swing stroke. Great racquet from Babolat.
@vnishpt70364 жыл бұрын
Kinda surprising it would be more maneuverable than the WPS v13 considering the added swingweight on this one so that's interesting. I'm not too crazy about the wide 23mm beam width in a portion of the head so prolly would not be a racket for me. You might consider reviewing the Head Pro Tour 2.0 if you can get your hands on one as would be interesting to see how it shakes out in your spreadsheet comparable ratings. Thanks for the detail review.

Agreed, I though the weight might be a bit much, but the balance was so nice, it felt like it whips around so quick! I’ll see if I can get my hands on one, I heard a lot of positive reviews.

Great review, I have a dozen of the 1st generation Pure Strikes some of them I bought used, they had some feel issues forsure but there is something about them I really love!! One of a very few racquets that I have heard people reference as garbage!! The marketing history is interesting as well, I still believe the 1st gen. is underrated, but I understand the problems with them as well, anyhow just a reminder to everyone play with what you like and don't worry about the popularity.
@MikeKomen4 жыл бұрын
Great advice Nathan! That’s also why people shouldn’t just rely on reviews either. I try to give as much info as I can but you’ll still never know what you like until you go out there and play.
@nathanmiller60514 жыл бұрын
@@MikeKomen Well your reviews are definitely some of the best!! I have fun getting oddball racquets that no one really wants or likes and trying different set-ups to see if I can make them work, sometimes it's not about the " setup " it's about playing certain shots vs others haha which no tennis instructor would be thrilled about!! LoL 😂 it's all good fun!! Plus I only play with good friends, and if I lose I can always say " well you know everyone said this racquet was junk " haha 😉😅

@Mike Komen nice video! I wonder if you have tried the strike team. Ive got the strike team and 16x19. I like both and I don’t know which one to use since Ive got rotator cuff issue on my shoulder and it gets really tired snd painful particularly when using the 16x19. I play with more top than power but the team seems too light. I thought in customising it to add a few extra weight. Do you have a view? Thanks!!!
@MikeKomen3 жыл бұрын
Hard to say Daniel since it might be a hitch in the swing that is causing you pain and not the racquet. My suggestion is always to use what’s comfortable. Not worth having one great hit if you’re out for the next week icing the shoulder!

Nice analysis. How do u compare this with the pure drive 2021.? This is more of a control oriented racquet compared to the drive 2021 which is more power and compromising control? how does the power compare to that of the pure drive?
@MikeKomen3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Satish. The strike tour feels heavier, requires a bit more strength to maneuver and better timing to get that weight on the ball at the right moment. When you do though you get a clean heavy strike with power very similar to the drive. With the drive on the other hand I found it easier to generate racquet head speed and generally less effort to get that ball moving quickly, even when my contact was not ideal. Hope that helps answer your question, and thank you for supporting the channel!

You’d feel at home with this one but I don’t think it would be the best choice if you’ve had an injury. My suggestion would be to try the vcore 95 (my main racquet still). Watching that prediction about Thiem at the end of the vid made me kinda sad. Thiem was really riding the wave after that USO two years ago then he fell off the face of the tennis world and hasn't been back since. Now he can't string two tennis matches together and is on a massive losing streak. I fully agree with you that in form Thiem would've been the player to take over from the big 3 (and I still think he would've been beating them semi-regularly if he was still in his 2020 form). Especially considering Djokodal are now older and more vulnerable. It almost reminds me of Delpo and the whole "what could've happened" story, maybe not as bad because Thiem still remained healthy for a lot longer than Delpo but it's still uncertain if he's ever gonna come back to his old form.

I have a 98 16 x19, but it doesn't feel as stable as the head speed pro or the pure strike tour... I have tried those two, any others you might suggest? Hey man, looks like you’re hitting great! My suggestion is to try adding weight to your ezone first and see how you like it. @MikeKomen3 жыл бұрын
What do you think of the 97hd?
@kayanoreeves19493 жыл бұрын
@@MikeKomen I love the 97HD. It plays bigger than 97 sq in, and the sweet spot is high in the head. My arm gets tired after a long hit, but no pain in the joints. It maybe has a little more pop than necessary. I find myself holding back a little on approach shots to keep from hitting long. I might bump up the tension, but the little bit of free power is nice when hitting serves and groundies, so I might keep the current setup: VS Touch Mains 57lbs, ALU Crosses 55lbs.
