I have become slightly obsessed with the Vervet Forest and watching how you wonderful people care for these babies. But this! Watching Peggy, little miss Freak Out when she arrived, melt into Luca's arms, made me cry! Seeing what is supposed to happen and the immediate love and care the Foster Mommy took with Peggy was just a joy to watch. Thank you so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Danielle

:) I'm really glad that you feel that way. This is exactly why we do the work that we do here. There is nothing like seeing these babies finally get moms and to see the joy in both of them once the initial fear has been overcome is so satisfying and heart warming.

These are the only monkeys I’ve seen that take so well to babies that they never gave birth to.The love of all the monkeys as a group is amazing. So awesome to see the behavior and what neat bonding skills these foster moms have.

Oh be still my heart. Was sad at first seeing Peggy and Joli run away from the 1st foster mom. Then they ended up making me cry with delight at the end. What a fascinating little soap opera you have going on! I'm hooked too.

This just about made me cry. The motherly instinct in the adult monkeys and their desire and drive to mother these babies that were not even their own, is just heart melting.

It's such a happy tearful moment to watch, it's just like a homeless kid trying to trust someone again and it's the same way with the mommys, they've been there been through it or just want that mommy figure of loving a baby of their own.Such a special moment and love the way the babies are protective of each other.😊😊😊
@paigehaddock47875 жыл бұрын
I just wanna say, What i love most about your sanctuary is that there's a space for everything, and it is set up so perfect for the things you need to achieve in this process!!💕 also that they really get the best of both worlds here, with you guys and & the New Moms. Both sides have awesome vibes! I love how quick the surrogates attach to the babies. They don't reject them.💕 Idk if this is old, or how popular this is, but I really hope you blow up guys! The money you'd make on here would be for such a great cause💕 I see exactly what you're trying to achieve with the intro enclosure! Are you guys planning on rebuilding it with the same set up, but bigger & with different fences eventually? Or is This permanent for keeping it as natural as possible? This is something i have to donate to! I would love to see this place build and grow!💕 You EARNED a new dedicated subscriber tonight!. I just started today so I dont know if you guys are still making these videos, but I really hope so!! GOOD JOB GUYS SERIOUSLY!! Where can I donate??💕 Nvm, found it! 😆

I was wondering, the babies automatically are going to go for the breast to try to get milk from the foster moms, but none of them are actually nursing (producing milk), are they? I know the feeding cages are set up so the babies can still get milk themselves. But do the babies get upset at all when they try to nurse and get no milk? Or are they just contented by the act of doing it? Thank you!!
@VervetMonkey7 жыл бұрын
Danielle Misin they don’t mind that they get no milk. In primates suckling can often be more of a comforting action rather than purely a means of nutrition. So both the mothers and babies receive satisfaction from the suckling.

As these females that were once babies there grow, and soon become babysitters or moms, do they loose their attraction to the adults that run the organization? They are so close as infants but as adults do they resume that degree of independence of human??
@VervetMonkey6 жыл бұрын
As soon as the orphans get a mother, within a week they dont get attracted to humans and after a month they show fear of humans
