Would you feel the same way if they had been there to "protect" Wasabi & Namida from Gentleman Komugi? Oage is a cad, to be sure, but he's also their father. And as we've seen before, O-Twins are very overprotective of those two pups. Wasabi will stand up for herself if need be and Namida is naturally curious. They don't need the mama-bearing anymore.

To be fair, he didn't really get a chance because Odashi and (to some extent) Otsuyu kept blocking him despite - or maybe because of - his own daughters' curiosity about him. Unlike with Komugi, Wasabi wasn't afraid of 'dad'.

@@Soufriere84 I'm not entirely sure how accurate this assessment is. When they were with Komugi they were all on their own and did not have the adults company to fall back on, moreover he was the very first other Otter they had ever seen. Even so they were curious enough about him to investigate, but not enough to commit. Besides briefly looking at him through a window and some bars, they didn't seem to pay much heed to him, even with Odashi and Otsuyu around. Namida particularly just kept trying to leave, on the contrary, Otsuyu was the one keeping her around. Personally I expect that it would have been beneficial for them to have seen Komugi interact with Odashi and Otsuyu before seeing him alone as a stranger for the first time, but that's just a guess in the end.

And _both_ pups were curious about him, whether or not they realize he's their father (they likely don't). But Otsuyu and _especially_ Odashi went out of their way to "protect" them from Oage. Dude may not know the meaning of "monogamy", but I can't imagine him doing anything to hurt his babies that he probably doesn't understand are his. Odashi especially is overreacting big-time.

If he knew he had babies and was allowed to be around Otsuyu while she was pregnant and while raising the babies he probably wouldn't have had time to be put with another female. Ehh… not in this case. Oage is Wasabi's & Namida's _father_ and I'm pretty sure Otsuyu at least understands that. He has a right to get to know his own kids. For reasons certain only to her, though we can guess, Loutre-mama denied him a chance to co-parent (even as she told us this otter species does that).

Odashi being the jealous type, Otsuyu being neurotic, the two having never been apart in their lives (except that one day), and Oage being a cad led to this whole soap opera.

I remember how Oage and Otsuyu were brought together (video of 02/24/2021). And I remember Otsuyu bringing food to Oage (video of 03/30/2021). How quickly time passes. Now here we are, finally seeing sweet and good-natured Oage again. I hope he can meet Namida and Wasabi on his own later. It is clear that the Double O`s have a strong protective instinct towards the babies. I wish you five all the best.
