Bach wrote it. Schornsheim played it. But we don't get to hear it without the superb skills of the recording engineers. Lovely!

I always love seeing a variety of performers for this project, but I would not mind this entire book being performed by Ms. Schornscheim. Every single video I have heard with her in it has been fantastic, this being no exception!

She does perform the entire second book.

Schornsheim never disappoints. Great scholar, teacher and easily one of the very best cembalists out there.

A prelude at baroque style, and a fugue in counterpointed harmony. One of the multiple examples that J S Bach offers to us in his notebook.

As always, thank you for another beautiful video. We are so lucky to have access via recording and KZbin to such exquisite playing as Schornsheim's.

I like this Bach Society intro sound better, no harmonics that interfere with the actual piece played shortly after hearing it 👍

St. Martin's Cathedral in Utrecht is beautiful, as is this performance of Bach's music.
I have always thought this was one of the most powerful preludes in the WTC. I do think I prefer it on the modern piano, however. Well played.

There's something really lovely about the sound of this harpsichord. Is it the instrument, the location, the recording technique, or some combination of the three? And Schornsheim plays excellently as usual.

The piece is in E-flat major, played in Baroque pitch A = 415 Hertz. That can sound half a tone lower if you are used to modern pitch A = 440 Hertz.

Consider being grateful you have a group of people who love JSB so deeply they're giving the world free access to incredibly considerate, richly varied, beautifully performed and outlandishly cinematic renditions of this sacred music. This is an obvious labor of love. Answering emails is about 0.0% of what making and sharing music is about, so frankly I HOPE they don't bother spending one iota of their precious time reading ANY emails, let alone those from self-involved weirdos such as yourself. Thank god they're better people than me, because if I saw 3 emails like the comment above from you, I'd probably just stop making videos altogether just out of petty spite. So, by all means, NBS, if you're NOT ignoring this guy on purpose, then please start.

The last time I saw you whining about "the lack of harpsichord works" and now that they release a new one every week you're complaining again ?? What the fuck do you want buddy
