Great to see a video, always gives me a nudge to get out. Dug and fished Weston beach the other evening. Only 1 bite for me, came to nothing but felt like a tiny strap. Chap just up from me had a 51cm bass about the same time, so there was stuff out there. Next time....

Yes there are definitely some decent fish about but they are few and far between unlike the last couple of years unfortunately!! I’m sure we will both keep putting in the hours and sooner or later a proper fish will come along!! Fingers crossed!! Cheers Ian

nice ian ,better than my chesil trip last week , not a mackerel in sight , i came down country and the mackerel turned up in barry in big numbers on the knap . the local tackle shop sold out of feathers in a hour ,sods law , i also just blanked on a 2 day carp outing , i got a funny feeling its going to be one of those years , a friend of mine has had a few bass and sole last week further up the channel so they are about ,ATB les

@garrymadge108Ай бұрын
Hi Ian. Enjoy your fishing trips, great source of info about this local mark. Few questions for you when you have time.Do you find the beach has a more favoured end. By that I mean closer to Brean or closer to Burnham or stick in the middle as it's pretty much the same. Also do you agree digging your bait fresh and using the native worm can have the edge over worm harvested from another venue?
@ianclarkfishingАй бұрын
@garrymadge108 hi Garry nice to hear from you I don’t think any part is significantly better than the other but most anglers here have their favourite There are few gullies along Brean so not a lot of features to hold the fish…. We prefer behind the village hall but some swear by behind unity farm or the golf links I think the fish move quickly along the beach so location not as important as using fresh dug lug…. Occasionally I have tried shop bought lug on Brean but it usually results in failure unfortunately!!! Cheers Ian

Another great video ian. Have you ever used a dongle rig there. ? Do you find smaller or larger tides fish better there? Well done on your retirement chris hopefully more fishing vids to come now ha
@ianclarkfishingАй бұрын
Hi Keith lovely to hear from you! Used a dongle down channel when using squid or fish baits but never on Brean using lug. Best tides between 10.5 and 11.5m in my opinion Fingers crossed me and Chris get out even more! Cheers Ian
@keithgribble8143Ай бұрын
@ianclarkfishing we're over there in the boat in the morning couldn't get lug so trying rag we had a nice one around a month ago off the stakes so that's where we're headed tight lines

@keithgribble8143 good luck mate looks like fantastic weather for a change!!!
@willbacon4164 күн бұрын
Hi Ian, What type of Lug is it that you dig on Brean? And does it stay fresh for a couple of days (i.e. If I were to dig some on a Friday evening it would still be good bait on the Sunday if stored in a cool place)? Cheers and keep up the good work!
@ianclarkfishing4 күн бұрын
Hi Will Brean lug is blow lug…. If you can keep it cool wrapped in newspaper or similar you can definitely keep it two days but probably not much longer… we store ours in fridge if we need to keep it Cheers Ian
@gordoncarass2360Ай бұрын
Hi Ian nice video as usual. I`ve seen you fish Brean Beach in previous videos and noticed how shallow it looks, you also never seem to wade out before you cast so I`m guessing the Bass must come in pretty close even though you have to retreat a good distance every chuck?
@ianclarkfishingАй бұрын
Hi Gordon lovely to hear from you Yes first cast an always drop close as you say the bass can be 50 yards out in 2ft of water at times! Very easy to wack the bait out over their heads I think! With the speed of the incoming tide your bait will be 200+ yards out in no time anyway!! Cheers ian
@altonphotographyАй бұрын
Great video as always, Ian. Is parking easy at Brean? I've a mate who is slightly restricted on distances although if it's flat it is easier for him. Cheers and tight lines.
@ianclarkfishingАй бұрын
Hi thanks for watching Between I think 9am and 5pm you can park on the beach for a charge at the Brean end or behind Unity Farm. You need to park against the dunes and not on anything over a 11.5m tide. Plus bear in mind you are fishing the 3 hours up to high water you don’t want to be locked out on the beach!!! I park on the grass verge opposite Brean village hall ( not behind the yellow lines) and take the short walk through the cutting to the right of the hall…, it’s a bit narrow and soft sand but only about 100 yards to the beach! Hope this helps cheers Ian
@altonphotographyАй бұрын
@@ianclarkfishingthanks - very helpful. Found the VH and can see the double yellows but not where you mean. I’ll try and get down around 7th August. I think tides look decent with a HT around 2100
@ianclarkfishingАй бұрын
Grass verge just south of village hall on opposite side of road… the first 30 yards of verge is behind yellow lines and a ticket id guaranteed if you park there…. Just go past them and all ok! Good luck
@cedhome7945Ай бұрын
What's the parking like there have you a few suggestions?
@ianclarkfishingАй бұрын
Hi thanks for watching! I park on the grass verge opposite Brean village hall ( don’t park behind the double yellow line) There is a cut to the beach to the right of the hall. Hope this helps cheers Ian
@marcobigguns3417Ай бұрын
mate can you give me a good place to park as i see some car parks shut at night so help appreciated and which end of the beach is best thank you
@ianclarkfishingАй бұрын
Hi …. Beach closed to cars after 5 I think and charges apply in the summer We park opposite Brean village hall on the grass verge ( not behind yellow line) and there is a cut to the beach just right of the hall. Left or right of the stakes doesn’t seem to matter much it’s personal preference Cheers Ian
